salad 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) I have been a silent reader on RT for a while and finally started our renovation progress yesterday We bought a tiny 3 room flat in Ang Mo Kio and collected our keys around ends of May. Can't wait for the reno to complete and see our home for real First of all, this is our floor plan... Edited June 12, 2012 by salad

salad 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 Welcome. Hv u gotten an ID yet? It'll be good to show ur intended layout so that we can appreciate ur reno design ideas.Hi Rover,We have engaged a contractor instead of ID as we already have in mind what to be done So far I am super happy with his service. Hopefully everything will go smoothly all the way till the end Been playing around with Floorplanner and this is the layout. Nothing fancy though. Main theme is White and Wood. We love to have a brick wall after seeing many nice photos here. But the labour costs for brick wall is over budget. In the end, we decided to DIY the brick wall Our reno has started this Monday. I don't have much time to pop by our place as very busy with my new job. Will update the progress photos later tonight.

salad 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Things bought so far: Haiku fan in white. Bought from Universal Union at $740 before GST. Was told it the last piece then, hence I had to rush from work to get it. Cash and carry! I'm super kiasu Fujioh Slim Hood FX900. Bought from Hoe Kee IMM at $360 after GST. Initially got the FS890 model as the sale auntie told us it was stronger and Made in Japan. Only went home and found out the FS890 was actually not as strong as FX900. Have to go all the way their to exchange as they don't allow to change via phone. Not happy with the service and wrong info given. salad 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Lol sorry iPhone autocorrect! I mean what hob u bought?Initially I ordered the Fujioh glass hob as it is cheaper to buy in a package with the hood. However, after some research it seems that the glass hob is prone to breaking if cooking for long hours or very hot flame. The sale auntie in Hoe Kee told us Fujioh glass has lifetime warranty though. I rather skip the hassle, especially after the wrong info given, and use the current stainless steel hob since we are not doing the bottom cabinet at this time. If we ever need one in the future, would probably get a Rinnai hob Edited June 13, 2012 by salad
