Just went to a friend's housewarming and probably the nicest portion of the house was the toilet..

This is not the first case that people surrounding me are spending so much on making a luxury toilet.

These days, it could be even hard to find the flush of the toilet bowl just because of its high tech and sleek design that it could be hidden somewhere or could be a flat surface thing that you thought was nothing but turned out to be a button to flush.

Came across this article " http://www.*propertyspam/articles-property/home-improvement/bathed-in-style/a/68704 "

As quoted fromt he article, " Mr Kevin Yao, chief operating officer of bathroom furnishing provider Grohe Asia Pacific, says it is now common for house-proud owners to splash out an average of $10,000 on luxing each loo. And it is not just private home owners who are increasing their budget, he adds.

The highest he has seen spent was $12,000 for a four-room HDB flat. "

Its not just private home owners doing that now. Just like to know why are people spending on toilet rather than bedrooms or living rooms where you relax yourself?

Well, I would say toilet is actually quite an expensive area to renovate if you were to renovate all over again. This is because of the tiling required and the stainless steels items. I spent around $4600 for my MBR toilet, which inclusive of tiling and accessories and glass door. I am those budget control type, who chose every single items myself, you can view here for the itemise price list.

Although the cost is high, I don't regret doing the renovation on my toilets, assuming you've very nice living room but an old toilet, I guess the feeling will just not as comfortable.

Renovating your living room to a high standard is really good but what gives your home the finest finish is the toilet. I am not surprized people spend a lot of money. If I could I would have done it as well. My boss' toilet even has a crown that she puts on when "performing the action".
