if you cook often, 1 year later you can write a review for that Blanco sink, especially the white "spot" on the sidewall.

How to Clean Off a White Spot on a Blanco Anthracite Silgranit Sink

My link

Mineral-rich water can increase the appearance of white calcium deposits.

Dark-colored Silgranit II sinks like Anthracite may require extra care to keep them looking clean; white spots tend to show up more clearly. These white spots are deposits of calcium and they often show up in a ring around the bottom of the sink. In addition to your regular cleaning routine, use a cleaner that removes calcium deposits to restore your Silgranit sink's shine.

Instructions

  1. Spray the white discoloration with a sink cleaner that is specially formulated to remove calcium deposits.
  2. Scrub gently at the discolored area with a damp, non-abrasive sponge.
  3. Rinse the Anthracite Silgranit sink thoroughly with hot water.
  4. Restore the shine of the Anthracite sink with mineral oil. Add about a spoonful of mineral oil to a clean cloth and wipe the entire sink.
  5. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on your Silgranit sink. Avoid using undiluted bleach.

warranty on the material, which is vinyl, a kind of plastic so definitely water resistant..it also feels solid without the hollow feel that laminates give..

i was warned that water may seep in between and cause smell/mould below which warranty does not cover (as material is not damaged). it is installed using a 'click' system which connects the pieces without sealing, so have to be careful of air-con leaks/forget to close windows/mop too wet/spilling water without cleaning it quickly as water may seep through in between..

some research has also found that it emits poisonous fumes in small amounts and isn't good for children especially..you can read up on it..

but the potential smell and mould turned me off.. ;)

Hi!

Water resistant will be the correct word to use la. Most laminated flooring consists of 4 layers. The top most layer is called the wear layer. This layer yes, is water proof and wear resistant. The reason why I say water resistant is a better word to use is because the joint area between the laminated flooring is not water proof. If there is water spillage on the joint area, the water will seep through into the laminate if the spillage is not wiped off immediately:)

There is also moisture in the air as well, that is why the vapor barrier is a must to make the laminated flooring last longer. So installation must be done the proper way.

Hahaz :thumbs up:

Cheers :yamseng: ,

Mike

AC5?! Erm it is usually for commercial use... Places with heavy traffic like public buildings and department stores. Not that you can't use it for your home but it might be too rough for our bare feet due to the course surface of the products under this rating.

Cheers :yamseng: ,

Mike
