nftwfhap 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2012 I intend to engage two contractors, one doing flooring/electrical, painting and another specialise in kitchen cabinet/wardrobe.I need advice:1. How should I co-ordinate between the two especially at the kitchen area. etc untouch space for kitchen cabinet work, wall tile..... I am not sure how do one do up the tile and cabinet, it seems both are interlink at some point. Will I face a prob with both contractors?2. Think wardrobe should be much simple right since it just need to be done up after completion of flooring and so on. Am I right?3. Estimation cost of kitchen cabinet and wardrobe? 6K and 3K each is enough? I am looking at blum system like hinge for kitchen cabinet, without servo.4. Pls intro some gd kitchen and wardrobe contractor to me. Heard classic furniture is gd, but I wrote email to them with no respond at all.Thks.

ideal78 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Hi nftwfhap 1. How should I co-ordinate between the two especially at the kitchen area. etc untouch space for kitchen cabinet work, wall tile..... I am not sure how do one do up the tile and cabinet, it seems both are interlink at some point. Will I face a prob with both contractors? = Yes you will find abit of troublesome to attend both contractor at the same time cos both will be waiting for you to give the solution ( if any problem is arise), Tiling need to be compete 1st there after the kitchen cabinet can be install. 2. Think wardrobe should be much simple right since it just need to be done up after completion of flooring and so on. Am I right? = Yes you are right 3. Estimation cost of kitchen cabinet and wardrobe? 6K and 3K each is enough? I am looking at blum system like hinge for kitchen cabinet, without servo. = You might want to increase abit more of your budget might not be enough since you looking into blum and soft close system. maybe you need to get a proper quote 1st before you kick off the reno 4. Pls intro some gd kitchen and wardrobe contractor to me. Heard classic furniture is gd, but I wrote email to them with no respond at all. = Try to get 3 quote rather then waiting for the one to reply your email.Above the suggestion is just base on my 2cents worth only . hope you don't mind i using red to indicate as for easy reading dose'nt mean i'm teacher who correct the spelling mistake by using red colour pen hahahahahaNevertheless Blum system is not a new things in the market, they had been quite numbers of years, i do believe any carpenter will know how to install.Hope that my 2cents worth of suggestion will help you in a way cheers Edited May 30, 2012 by ideal78
OnTheRoad 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2012 Coz I heard not all contractors knw how to deal with Blum system. So thought of getting expert to do...I believe many of the contractors/ID firms wld know how to install Blum...u can ask ur wetworks contractor to quote for carpentry as well & compare his with other carpenter's quotes. Btw classic kitchen is not cheap & theirs is mainly hettich system.
