Haviv2 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 Need some advice here, my ID told him that it is hard to have a false ceiling of 3" height or less (like maybe 2.5"). Anyone done a false ceiling of 3" or smaller? Thanks.
Dannie 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 It needs enough allowance for your lights. Typically its downlights concealed in the false ceiling together with allowance for its ballast. False ceilings typically conceals lights - so make it a priority to understand your lighting needs.

LLChing 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 Yes, for those areas which I do not have downlights, my false ceiling is 2". Since I'll be using LED downlights which is thinner, those are 3" - 4" depending on the thickness of LED lights. My reno starts tomorrow.
