Boil water in 1+ minute! Love it.

Well you can boil water just as quick with an electric kettle but the cool factor is not there. Haha.

Other pros are:

1) Super easy to clean. Just one wipe and it's brand new.

2) never run out or gas or have a gas leak.

3) Instant temperature adjustment which the other electric cookers don't have.

4) No heat loss. When you remove your pan the heating stops until you put your pan back. And cos there are no open flames, your surrounding stays cool.

Cons:

1) price is definitely one. Especially if all your pots and pans cannot work on induction

2) uses a lot of electricity..

1 more con...

if you cook a lot, your electricity bill will be sky high.

hmm.... we don't exactly cook alot at the current juncture... possibly once a week?

Or max, twice a week...

I have both gas and induction domino hobs in my kitchen.

For me the pro for induction is that it heats things up really fast, boils a full kettle in a much shorter time compared to gas, ( sorry, didn't time how much faster.) it's also easy to keep things on a simmer without having to worry about boiling over as induction hob is able to keep temperature steady/constant. Then, of course like what White Housey has said, it's super easy to clean. And because there is less heat created and no open flame, somehow, It makes me feel safer letting my teenage daughter have a go at cooking.

Con: if you want to do Chinese dishes with "wok hei", can't achieve that with an induction hob, so I use my gas hob for that. and also if you need to boil herb or cook dish in a clay pot, cant use induction.

Basically, of u don't cook alot and not fussy about "wok hei" and all that. It's good.

Hi all,

I have just gotten the induction hobs... but any brands of pots and pans you guys would recommend for induction-ready?

I saw Meyer... IKEA also has a few range suitable for induction hobs.. IKEA ones ok?

Thanks!
