Need Help - Kitchen & Toilet Waterproofing Cost

Hi Guys & Gals,

Can someone pls advise me on the waterproofing requirement of the kitchen & toilet pls. I have talked to a few contractors, n none the wiser. & getting confused with the diff terms used by diff contractors.

Some simply quoted me $150-$300 for waterproofing of kitchen & 2 toilet floors, but I have also met contractors who split it as below

1. supply & apply non-shrink grout & waterproofing to both toilet floors - $300

2. Supply & lay waterproofing to kitchen floor - $150

Is my quote of $150-$300 and this $450 the same? Are there diff ways to do waterproofing? Anyway apart from flooding the floor can we find out if waterproofing is done well? The less I want is to hack again a few short years down the road.....

In addition, can someone explain to me what is the following

a. lay HDB approved prepack mortar including outlet piping, both toilets - $560

Waterproofing for kitchen is a bluff lah, at most they only waterproof a very small area around the drainage of your sink. How can the big kitchen waterproofing cost less than 2 small toilets? Maybe you can nego with them to absorb the waterproofing of sink drainage area.

You better ask them what is HDB approved prepack mortar including outlet piping? Ask them to show you the stuff physically and ask them why other quotation dont have?

Actually r u intending to lay tiles? coz some contractors actually charge cheaper for waterproofing when they lump it up with the tiles. If not the price will not be accurate from contractors to contractors.

Recently my walls is flowing water which stain my wall with pink and yellow liquid as HDB send me a quote that will cost will be $1200
