Hello to all.

Was lazy to start my own thread at first but seeing recent renos were either the industrial or scandi look,

I decided to show u all my more kua zhang house.

No offence to those renos mentioned, I think they are great,

just that me and my wife preferred to go the other way for our first house and we shall see how long we can tahan the look. LOL.

When we got our keys in Jan, we did what many taught us, knock on every inch of the house.

Really tiring. As u can see, we found many places with hollowness and luckily, BSC followed up and rectified all.

I think we shocked our ID with all the nicely 'framed' masking tapes. Hahaha!

Our wedding last year was done with Baroque in mind as my wife loves the styling and intricate details that came with it.

Just look at her gown and heels.

We pretty much decided our first home to be the same as well! Bold and colourful with lots of detailings.

Inspirations from Antoinette.

Inspirations from a shop in Bugis Junction. Suddenly brain freeze cannot remember the name. Haha.

With our ideas coupled with loads of excitement, we met up with a few IDs and the price was as u all guessed it, hefty!

Then my ex-colleague told me about her ID who just started her own firm and might be 'discountable'.

We grabbed the chance and met up with her at her place, also her showroom.

She is very friendly and helpful and best, she understood my wife's wants! Best!

We told her our theme and ideas and she patiently listened and asked us alot of questions as well.

We asked for drawings and she delivered them within 2weeks.

As we are very careful people, wat with all the horror stories of IDs and contractors,

we make sure all our queries were answered and the designs, materials, colours were all confirmed before we signed on the line.

Yes, after more than 50 (or more perhaps) amendments, and almost 2 months later, we finalised everything and signed with her.

I guessed we are lucky we found such a patient ID to work with!

Dont think any firms will keep giving us amended drawings. Haha!

She uses Google Sketchup to draw but we felt that its very close to the real thing!

Especially the toilets. I shall post the pics later.

I am not going to bore you all with the hacking pics and dusty dirty process.

Lets start with Kitchen Entrance. Drawing, Real thing.

Black board wall at the end. We got Blum drawers and hinges for the whole house! Its really easy breezy pushing for all. Ha!

My graphics designer wife will be customising kooky decals for the backsplash and other areas hopefully soon!

Here's the amazing idea and designs for both toilets. We love it the moment we saw the drawings!

As wall tiles for new flats cannot be hacked, but being so hideous we thought we have no choice but to overlay.

But our genius ID came up with a solution to dress the tiles!

The black and gold toilet has superb comments from everyone including my reserved parents!

I had a fun time doing hand modelling for my ID for the specific placement of accessories.

Love them to the max. My ID is really a gold fanatic. Hahaha!
