For those with deeper pocket, did their bay window with marble/granite or solid surface top - you can refer to casa t blog, these are supposed to be more durable and easier to maintain. Must take into consideration that area will be expose to sunlight more and mayb some rain if u forgot to close the window, so the material use shld nt fade in color easily and waterproof.. I would think it is better to do up the bay window as it will be easier to clean shld u decide to use tt place - for small potted plants, sitting or putting any decor items. theitsybits 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) we have finally confirmed our contractor and will (hopefully) be starting our renovation in a week's time! it's has been a really long and tiring process after meeting many IDs and contractors, and having had many issues.we are using the same contractor which paloma and pinkwhale used, because we really like the feel of their homes. most importantly, we felt comfortable with him and he's also responsive, giving us quite a few suggestions. he's very experienced, so he'll tell us what is not feasible or do not go with our theme. he's probably one of those rare few who actually gets the scandinavian feel we wanted, as even many IDs don't seem to get it and kept questioning what we wanted. he's definitely not the cheapest contractor around, and he don't really speak english. we also didn't ask for any 3D drawings from him since we saw his works and were also very sure of what we wanted. i suppose this is purely chemistry and trust. we've already marked our electrical points and can start once we get the permit. hopefully, everything will go smoothly from now on.. :dancing queen:we have bought this dining table.and a matching sideback.both are from commune and he got them at a 5% discount.we also shortlisted this dining table from Grafunkt - they are also having sales up to 30%but it was really out of budget. we originally shortlisted dbodhi and white woods tables, but opted for a less heavy table instead, for a more casual feel to match the brick wall.we still can't decide between this.and this.husband prefers the huge 2-door fridge because it looks good. but i'm practical and would rather get the smaller one since i can't think of what to buy to fill the huge fridge! the electrical bill would be substantially more too!!!
