Hey, I have just move in to EM not long but I have discovered the price to pay for staying in EM. Don't know is it true, contractor see your house type and quote differently.

Before EM I leave in 3 room flat, I get quotation from different vendor to install a power point. one of vendor i approach for 3 rm previously quote me $60 for an extention point. But recently I call back the same contractor for the EM, maybe he has done too many project, he cannot remember me. So this time he quote me $250. The timelag is just only a year apart. Anyone has this type of experiences just because you live in Bhanglow or EM you pay more for the similar service?

this one i agree - not just renovation but everything else as long as there is a service provided.

But I am in a lost for the kicthen renovation, Can share how your plan your kichen layout?

either I keep the existing wall tiles (very dirty) dun know can wash clean or not, and a 10 year old lower kitchen cabinet OR

Change the whole kitchen, How much will it cost for the whole reno ofthe whole kitchen.

Have to change the whole house tiles.

I observe that there are hairline crack in the balcany wall tiles. Is it common for a old flat?

Is there any tiles that can withstand the heat and rain type of wall tiles?or just hack off and leave it????

if i can remember - excluding hacking/haulage around $3k for just the kitchen floor+wall tiles.

mine is cheaper cos less area ( wash area HACKED away).

We did just a lower stretch of cabinet - $1k

What's the colour of the kitchen tiles? I think the chemicals wld be able to wash off the dirt and it'll really save u alot. Is the tiles done all the way or only half the wall?

Cant really advise u on the kitchen cabinets but if its for me, I'll hack it away and do up new ones cos I dun really wanna take over others' kitchen cabinets. If u intend to do top and bottom then I think can budget around 3k (+ or -) depending on the length as well as the material u using. Dare not reveal the cost of my TAKARA kitchen (Enamel) over here otherwise many wld fall off the chairs The cabinets is very durable and can get the agent to shift to new house even if we intend to move next time which I did for my old house.

as for balcony tiles....my seller's balcony wall tiles also got hairline cracks and we hacked it away. Its already closed to 20yrs so we do up new wall tiles.

Hello,

I think to re-build kitchen would be better, because you will use it every day with family members and feel should be happy with with your new kitchen. If you re-do it after your moved in then it is more cover/clean works etc. my whole kitchen reno cost abt s$9k

For Balcony, I hack the wall/floor tile and lay new floor tile and smooth wall with cement and painted use washable wall paint(abt S$600).
