We got it at ebay. Its actually not very expensive, the shipping charges cost more than the kit and we need to buy separately a local adaptor. All in all, it's not more than $100.

Fairly simply to install, wires ae quite long, just need to stick the receiver somewhere visible. Ours came few days ago, and it works, now we are thinking of getting another one for our MBR. If you are getting too, maybe we can share the shipping cost.

Bro thnks for your reply

If need will PM you

hi jshome.....so funny i had did the same thing last night. followed a TEAM of ants from kitchen top all the way to my black tile floor. they were totally in camo mode when they march alone the black grout lines, and said hi to the other team coming from the other way. they walk across the entire kitchen floor and then proceed to the dining room. while they are crawling through the oak-looking laminated floor, again it is impossible to spot them unless i had direct bright led following them. they ended up at the foot of my teak table.

i applied my magic chalk along the trail and voila, 15 minutes later.....dead ants everywhere.....lol. had to use vacumn to help me in the corpse clearing since there is so many of them....

i'd tried many "versions" of ant killer products, and this is the only one that really works for me. thanks to maydream for the recommendations!

Thks for the pic, may i know hw does the ant chalk work?

i have a team of ants moving ard my hse too.

Thks!

its like a chalk.... those you use during primary school days (unless you were much younger than me).

just draw around area that have a lot of ants like rubbish chute, corners of windows, or holes where the ants are coming out from. just draw like how you would draw on black board.

Reviving my balcony door

Carpenter having a hard time fixing the door frame. One of the few things we kept from the previous owner. The runner and hinges were spoilt, the wood warp and they have a hard time aligning it back. Lots of alterations need to be done, and finally, uncle lacquer giving it a new lease of life!

I don't think it will look nice because of the edging. Parquet still looks better and can match the existing parquet in the 2nd level.

Only bathroom progressing well. We are still pending HDB approval for the hacking of main entrance and study wall. :bangwall:

I tot all those permit should be apply before the renovation started?

Your contractor didn't help you to apply or you last min add these 2 walls to hack?

ashley, jshome contractor did apply permit for her. but permit can be given in stages or permit can be given on certain items and not on certain items.

for mine, my contractor sent request to hack 4 walls about 3 weeks before reno suppose to start. 1st approval, only kitchen wall approved. resent again for the remaining 3 walls, only bathroom was approved. then reno started while 3rd request was sent and it was approved after the rest of hacking have been done. so there was abt 1 week that no work was done as pending the approval of the other 2 walls.

if you are not urgent to move, then you can wait till all approval given before start work. for me, which same case as jshome, we want reno to start asap. so while waiting for approval, those been approved, just start first.

:jawdrop: wow! Need so long to approve by HDB! Tot apply permits all in one shot, HDB will approve all in one shot too!

That's why I tell myself that when I am doing my reno, I want my contractor to apply before renovation starts so when I get my keys, all permits will approve and can start hacking. Hmm... seems like I need to pre-warn my contractor about the hacking walls part.. Think apply 1 month before reno start to play safe wor!

its all depending on the officer in charged of your area and also what major hacking that you are doing. even if you apply 1 month before, you might not get all approved at one go.

if yours is new flat, then there are certain things you cannot hack. if yours is resale, then based on floor plan, those bold line, you cannot hack. But not all floor plans are accurate. look at Terrain1976 tblog, his shown his storeroom as non bold but it is prefab so in the end, no hacking done on 1 of the wall.

of course the earlier you apply, the better. remember that if you buying resale and you haven't not gone through the completion, then your seller must sign idemity form. not all sellers willing to do that.

Testing testing.....

Wooohoooo..... Internet is up! Thanks to starhub efficiency, one call to reactivate back the cable service and was told it will be done within 24hrs. But within an hour, we are able to use it already. I'm typing this in my studyroom, while the lower level is still in a mess!

Thanks Maydream for explaining the permit thing. Yes, it took 3weeks plus to get everything approved. Hack need one approval, erect new wall need another approval, we shift our main door entrance, need another approval...l bla bla bla....

The only thing you need to take note is for hacking, once approved, you are given 3days to hack and if you did not hack during that selected dates, you have to apply again... :bangwall:

yup, starhub is quite good. they do their cable service quite efficiently. i am not so sure abt fiber though. cos fiber internet was under opennet. then opennet sell to providers like singtel and starhub and M1. any problem, you call starhub, they have to call opennet. haiz.... hope nothing will go wrong lah.
