Is It Good Idea For Replacing Existing Polycarbonate Roof

Recommended Posts

Need to seek anybody advice.

The previous owner had fix a polycarbonate roof on my existing balcony but its has been dripping with rain water every time it rained.

My contractor recommend me instead of trying to repair the existing problem (which I did 3 times already). He recommend me to replace it using tiles (those tiles roof found on terrace houses). He told me this is the most effective way to prevent leaking. Any sound advice?

And if I use tiles, should I fix a false ceiling under it to make it look nicer? Without the false ceiling, you can see the under side of the tiles.

Thank you

Polycarbonate roofing is only a temp structure not meant to last long.

Changing to tile means redoing entire structure due to much heavier weight.

Alternatively can reuse polycarbonate framing buy using aluminum composite panels, which is used by LTA for covered walkways.

Ultimately, there is no best answer, cos u have to consider blending in the new roof with the building's main roof.
