Recommended Posts

Hey Teatime, you still wanna try them? They like fighting sial :fire: my goodness...

But if it's really full laminate can show us some photos both internal and externally? At $200-$210 is really too good to be thru even the price i get is much more  Looks like i have to go and screw my carpenter again! :fire::rofl:

Hi Mikeyong500,

U seems to know quite alot based from your other posts.

When i click on this thread, i wanted to find out more of the Full Height built-in wardrobe.

But seems like there is a debate going on.

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread:

I just collected my keys, planning to start reno works after lunar 7th month.

I will be hiring a main contractor.

1) what material of the built-in wardrobe should i use for durability?

(i do not know much about wood material, as i am from the Metal industries)

2) I wanted a cabinet with sliding doors, and 'soft close' function.

Therefore, roughly how much should i be expecting?

Thanks.

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Congrats on getting your keys~

The standard material used by carpenters nowadays is solid plywood. It is durable enough to last you for at least 3 years. With proper maintenance it can last even longer.

There are many other materials that can be used as well :)

For full height (capped at 8ft) wardrobe with sliding door and soft closing, price will be at least $250pfr onwards. The exact price depends on the materials like external and internal layer, whether there are any add ons like mirror, aluminum frame, glass panels, etc. But the basics will be at least $250pfr.

So have you gotten your contractor/ ID yet?

Have a smooth sailing renovation~

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your advice.

We are not planning to engage an ID, currently we are waiting for a quote from a contractor.

Cheers,

Melissa.

Blveblue or also known as lamidoor pte ltd, if u rich enough u can pay them n see what happen. U will never get your house done after paid. The boss Simon beh look innocent but is not. First time I reported to police, if my doors still not up by this week, I will let case handle everything. He did not pay his subcon money and open blank cheque to his workers. Owners suffer after paying those percent of money as the contract state. The money all go to him but never pay up to those workers and subcon, therefore owner house not done. A person who never see the coffin will never cry. Hope more owner whom get cheated go police case and CASE to sue him. As I known that subcon also sue him. A poor person will never own a luxury car and private property and also a big factory which full of raw material stock up there. Whatever human do, heaven can see, the time will come either on him or his love one. People work very hard for the money to pay those renovationp. Some people think that he shut down his company so can use another name to open another company without people knowing, he forget the world is round, Singapore is so small, mouth from one pass to 100 and pass to the rest. SUPER ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After renovating abt 3 yrs ago and now decided to do up a new warerobe for my bb room. Logged into reno talk, read this thread and really cant help but wana comment..

Firstly everyone felt that cheap stuffs dun come gd. Do you all know the profit margin of contractors and IDs? Well search my thread and reno I have done. All less then $15k SGD at tat time with full softclosing hindges, thick ply wood and full height mirrors (shoe cabinate, tv consoles, master bedroom warerobe) everywhere in my house. FYI $15,800k includes homogenous tiles. Mine is a 4 room flat. My extra electrical and tv points are all given free. I still kept the full receipts.

In SG, the profit margin has been raised high high. I am a IT professional, not contractors or IDs. I am not here to say any contractors are good or bad and wont give the contacts of my ex contractor (i checked with him and he started to charged sky high prices now, telling me the old price he quoted are no longer relavant). Dun understand the expensive is good mindset. I can only say, frds who visit my place, will squeeze their b@lls when they know how much they have paid for their reno incomparison to mine at that point of time. The materials used, thickness of wood, etc are all of better quality as compared to my frds'. But of cos, if its service one is after, the ID is the way to go. U pay for the service. :)

The forum admin can even arrange a gathering jus like all car forums to prove the existance of some members here. hahahaha... I am willing to show myself if there are any doubts on abt me. Nothing to hide.

Hi isurewin,if im not wrong you are refering to vincere interior. They are specialist in built-in wardrobe which is using aluminium sliding doors and also giving a free option to use mirror instead of coloured glass on the doors. Have you purchase from them?

Hi david my wardrobes are done up by yr company. I would say after surveyin for along time looking for wardrobes yr sliding doors are still one of the best quality that sells at a reasonable price! Cheers!

The price really depends on the material, the complication of the wardrobe and the size of the wardrobe.

I did all my furniture with Kai Shern Renovation Contractor, including full height wardrobes with sliding doors with black mirrors fitted on it.

Has been using the wardrobes for a few years and shows no signs of aging. really good grades the material and the work done.

try contacting them at https://kaishernrc.com/
