No wonder that day you said can place dining table in the living room. I was trying to figure out how to put a dining table in my living room. The extra space from the recess area gives your living room extra space already.

I believe our living room size is the same. Maybe because I plan to use smaller size furniture, so can still fit a dining table :P . My foyer is actually two steps lower than the living room.

ya, seem like the recess area is quite big. bigger than i have seen in other flats..... :thumbs up:

Before we place OTP to buy this house, we were aiming for the other house which has an even bigger recess area. But then, no point getting such a big recess area only to put our shoes.

Toilet Issue

We have an issue with the common toilet. There are 3 rows of pipe opposite the WC obstructing the way -we are not able to put our basin there. Anyone knows if we are allowed to rotate the WC 90 degree using the same hole?

There is no way you can rotate the wc to left 90, because the hole is there, you cannot shift the wc. Die die you must place your wc in your first drawing.

Erm.. why leh? After rotating the bowl, it is still using the same existing hole right, are there any other holes besides that?

i think i know what you meant. you have to ask your contractor to see whether the water pipe and what other pipes are needed to rotate the way you wanted.

It all depends on that hole where the waste goes down. You need to ask your contractor if you can rotate the wc. And also, the contractor needs to measure the hole. When you buy wc, the supplier will ask you the size. You then give him/her the measurement.

can be rotated but i agree with the rest... your other water pipes must be piped elsewhere. u got enough space to put 2 wc??

also, you must wait for the wc to be hacked before your con can measure the size of the hole.

Don't need to hack the wc then can measure the size of the hole. My contractor gave us the measurement before renovation, before the wc is hacked. We bought our wc before our renovation started.

Yes, it is possible to rotate it, Valerie. What we cannot do is to create a new hole.

You need to liaise closely with your contractor/plumber and get their advice to which type of WC you need. I understand there might be a need for a different trap (P-Trap) WC. Importantly, get the measurement surrounding the hole and its area when sourcing out for WC. The shops will advice you on the range accordingly.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have not asked my contractor. Will call him tonight, let's see what he said. :thumbs up:

But i suddenly thought of another problem, even if we can rotate the WC, there is a huge 'ginseng' pipe in the centre of the toilet. It may block the WC. :bangwall:

I can't imagine how your common toilet looks like. It seems like HDB squeezes all the pipes in the common toilet..

If all pipes in common toilet then nothing in master toilet. Good mah, then master toilet very clean look.

XTR, this is the layout of 2 toilets, not 1. Lol

At night called Alan to ask him about toilet bowl

Answer is NO. Cannot rotate the WC because there is pipe in the center blocking the way, there will be no leg space if we place the WC the other way round. :~ Now i need to find a super slim basin for the common toilet.

Well.. anyway, tomorrow is hacking day. Excited!
