I am so clueless when it comes to electrical appliances.

Fiance and I are not into cooking. Will a microwave oven with baking function suffice for most stuff like roast chicken etc.?

What should we be looking out for?

me also! I am a light kitchen user but am looking for a microwave that can do a bit more than heat up leftover food, but no need the full functionality of an oven.

Haha... once it has 3 function of grill and bake, the price shoots up to 1k and both fiance and I just went .... maybe not. We hardly cook.

Hihi.... If need to heat up food only just get microwave oven suffice...... Get those mix one no three no four...

For bakers no good enough so no waste money... I almost get those built in oven but think again, only nice n cool in kitchen n not really used so forget it...

Even microwave oven for hitting up also no point... I survive n my mums place for 20 pls years w/o one.. Okok cos my mum heats up traditional way for me

We've had a microwave with grill/bake function for 6 years, and it works fine. We use the grill/bake about twice a month, to roast a chicken or bake cakes. We bought it from Mustafa, but I've seen the same things in Mega Discount Warehouse. Cost was about $300 (6 years ago), and I've seen then recently for $500. I would say they don't last as long as a traditional microwave if you use the bake function all the time, and certainly not big enough to be baking lots of muffins and biscuits etc, but they're pretty good for the occasional user.
