Types Of Kitchen Sinks

Recommended Posts

I think you need to get the sink and the carpenter will draw and cut the hole. Not reliable to just give dimensions. Cos the solid surface guy will need your sink to be installed before they can do up the hole perfectly.

The order only take 1 week to arrive via DHL.

Yes agreed. I witness the carpenter cutting the hole, fit the sink into the hole take it out for the solid top contractor to take measurement. Also, you need to get your kitchen tap ready for the carpenter to cut the small hole at the same time as the sink.

My experience and most of the Kraus buyers got their sink within 5 days of ordering.

Hope it helps. :sport-smiley-004:

Thanks all!! I just placed my order, but have not bought any faucet!! Which brand/ design of faucet did u buy? what a nice name and price tag for a TAP!

I bought a stainless steel tap from Song Cho at $137 with gst. I also fixed a separate s/s spray bidget (the spray type use in toilet) to wash my 32" sink and for stronger washing of raw food like chicken, red meat etc.

Here's the pictures :

lyefam,

I like your faucet. I was tempted to get a similar design fr kraus as well, but it might cost me $200... v tight budget... songcho's shld be v good quality, and friendlier on the wallet at $139.

My sink has been shipped!!! Hopefully can get it by end of nxt week!!!

I suggest you don't set the measurements and give them to your contractor.

1. Instead you ask your contractor to measure the sink and tap dimensions.

2. The carpenter will cut out the hole of the sink first.

3. Then they will cut the hole of the tap.

4. After that the counter top contractor will take measurements and return a week later with the cut counter top of the sink and tap holes

5. Counter top contractor will fix counter top with the sink in it

6. Plumber will fix up your tap.

Hi, sharing my experience of buying hansgrohe faucets from insani24.de.

Finally received my faucets on 30/8 after placing order on 10/8....20 whole days.

Lesson learnt:-

1) overall saving about 20-30%, comprehending spore customs gst, shipping, handling cost (compared with local retailer's 25% discounted price).

2) need to buy in advance, making sure at least that you have 3 weeks' lead time before you need the parts. Buy parts with "on stock" indicated, instead of those with another 2-3 weeks to replenish stock.

A warning though...

though insani indicated "on stock" on all items I ordered (i ordered only item indicated with on stock as I needed parts ASAP), they reverted and informed me that one of the items was out of stock and not available for immediate shipment.

3) more time needed to monitor shipment delivery. Speed post (the local courier) received my 1st shipment and didn't deliver it for more than 10 days. Claimed to be Hari Raya Puasa period and couldn't clear backlog. Then took 2 more days to locate my shipment after I enquired about the shipment delivery! "Speed" post indeed.

4) I had an item delivered with missing parts (I ordered 2 of the same item, so could compare). Wrote to insani24.de....still waiting for their reply. Hopefully they will send the parts over ASAP.

To those who wants to order from insani or iceprice, make sure enough lead time is catered for in case of surprises like no stock or delivery delay or missing part...

I received questions on how to order Kraus sink from Amazon from time to time so I hope the below steps can help those who are new to Amazon.

1) Register with Amazon. Input your delivery address (can be home, office, Vpost & Hopshopgo address). Input your credit card no. (Spore Credit Card can be used)

2) Select the sink you want. My example is the sink I bought 23" square. Make sure the seller is Amazon. I believe only Amazon ship Kraus sink to Spore.

3) If not go to the list of seller and choose Amazon. Normally, Amazon will be the default seller unless they don't have stock.

4) If you select another seller, for my case I select wayfair. It will prompt me that it dont ship to my destination.

5) If Amazon got stock and u choose Amazon as seller, you should see this screen. It show the shipping charges and also the GST.

Just click PLACE YOUR ORDER and you are done!! :yamseng: :yamseng:

Just a word of caution to those looking at the Kraus sinks. If you do some Googling (and check out gardenweb.com) there are reports of rust occurring with this brand. The drainer is also reported to scratch the sink itself. I'm not trying to be cynical...if you have a Kraus sink and love it then that's fantastic, but please do research thoroughly as I don't believe they have a representative here in Singapore.

Rust I am not too sure. really depends on how it was used. Have to read the full story then will know.

Regarding scratches.... I don't believe in scratch proof stainless steel sink.

Do you have the links to the articles that talk about the rust problems ? Cos I juz googled and couldn't find any, I've also looked through gardenweb and didn't find any specific posts about Kraus sinks rusting - there were threads about Kraus but commenting on other brands that rusted tho ...

This is a good article on how to take care of your SS sink though, regardless of brand:

Am upset with insani24.de. :furious:

Sent many email to ask regarding the missing part for the bathroom mixer, they finally replied and said "thanks for your eMail. We buy our products directly from the manufacturer, so missing parts are basically not possible. Please inform us how we can help you."!!!!!

The two parts are non functional parts used to cover the 2 bathroom mixer holes on the wall...how, so ugly without it...

Will still perservere and write to them again.
