I bought a 3NG, a total a 796sqft. This is the quotation that i might wan to sign with the ID house, but let me know whether it looks ok, reasonable or something fishy is going on.

I didnt do my kitchen and toilet wall tiles as to save some budget for other things, which could cost another $4000. your help is much appreciated!

i really wonder how can hacking be individually priced. My reno guy told me its by lumpsum. So surprised to see 1 item as $333, another is $342. Anyhow 'bong' the amount? Also, how come hack kitchen floor, the base don't just kena hacked at same time? why billed separately? Which renovation is this????

It reminds of a reno firm that quote- hack toilet bowl, hack basin. Already got hacked wall tiles, don't all these automatically fall off from the wall? So can i say don't remove the basin & toilet bowl but only the tiles, so tat i do not need to pay installation fees? lol.

Actually, the quotation is far over priced... they are charging you things that is done free w others....

My advise to skip this company... Super over priced...

i think otherwise, total hacking is $2175 which is not too bad... just that the way it was written until too detailed. other stuff that are by ft, all looks ok to me... some more ex and some cheaper but overall, still ok

Ask your ID if any PE endorsement is needed. If there is, ask how much he charge. I've got a contact at $300 for PE. PM me if u need.

For painting works, I've got this Myanmar guy charging $300 to paint my 4room flat. But u have to get your own paint. Sure cheaper than those offered in the market. PM me if u need.

I dun quite understand. But I've got my lightings from lightings.com.sg. Cannot remember their charges but if I'm not mistaken, it's $38 for first point followed by $7 per point. N they deliver n fix at your convenience.

Yup, that's for lighting.com.sg, should be $30 1st point follow by $7 but that's the price for 2 yrs ago, think its more ex. now ....delivery fee another charges.

Overall I find it reasonable,things have been going up, levy,materials,etc...but not our salary... , happy renovating.

well this is an extract of the electrical works i was quoted.

seems abit weird that i am charged $40 per lighting point but downlights i have to supply/pay additionally. Is this normal? Or is this perhaps referring to the cost of the electric wire laying within the false ceilling etc

This is normal. 2 ways of doing that for the quotation, 1 include laying of wiring and trunkings with installation of lighting, another is separate laying of wiring/trunkings and installation of lighting fixtures into 2 items. As for what type of lighting fixture, the house owner will need to buy and supply it to the electrician/contractor/ID.

Downlights are provided by customer, i dont think any firm will wanna include downlights inside. Downlights got different brand, different designs, different light bulb or energy savings or long-lasting bulb, etc. All these are cost differently.

Which firm will wanna take the risk to provide downlights? Surely will have conflict.
