Plastic3 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2012 some questions1. why does the industry allows for part-timers compare to professionals financial advisers (not insurance agents) ?Previously there was no regulation, Real Estate Agencies make money off their Salespersons(Property Agents), the more Agents they recruit the more they make.Recently CEA trying to cleanup the industry, those who are employed have to get clearance from their companies.2. is the so-called exams renewable every x years - so that the so-called agency earn more ?No need to "renew" exams, just take once, pass & stay in the industry.Only need to retake if leave the industry & return.Yearly renewal of salesperson registration is with CEA, they collect the money not Real Estate Agency.3. what can the agent do besides buy/sell traditional residential properties ? are they allow to go into mannaged services like collecting rental on behalf of landlord who are overseas ? Or can they do residential rental (those that i receive pamplets in letterbox) ?Salespersons can do sales & rental of residential & commercial real estate (Resale HDB, Condo, Landed, Office, Shops, Warehouse...etc).Yes, can manage for overseas landlords.
