May I know how much does it cost to build this wall partition in yr living room?

Looks very elegant sia :D

Oh... the partition ah.... I did not install.... hee...

At first, parents comment that should not have a direct sight to living rm window. SOmething no good la...

Then I propose to build the partition and had the ID draw out, then they say should not have partition from floor to ceiling... also not good.... WTF... :furious: :furious:

Then I scrap the whole idea... So far still no grumble from them.... :sport-smiley-004: :sport-smiley-004:

I have a few enquiry on my AV system. Maybe I should list down my set below.

For me, I can't go the traditional way of Hi-Fi (source-amplifier-speaker) even though I would very much love to.

I had to consider the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) :bleah: :bleah: when choosing system.

But so far, I'm quite happy on how it turn out. My the other half is also happy. I think... :P :P

p1020634g.jpg

My speakers: Aktimate Maxi

Cost: I think around SGD$1800

Local dealer is CD Acoustic (The Adelphi #03-14, 1 Coleman Street)

Reason I got this speaker

1) Active speaker. I do not need an amplifier. So save space.

2) Internet radio (Connect by wifi or Ethernet RJ45) If you have not explore this, you will be amazed by the quantity and quality of the range of music out there. Nowadays, I will just on it once I got home.

3) FM radio. Good to have.

4) 3 auxiliary inputs (2 pairs of RCA phono connections and a mini-jack) plus audio outputs.

a) I connect my audio out from the processor to one of the RCA inputs.

b) I connect my sub woofer to the audio outputs

5) USB host socket on the Maxi allows replay of music files from memory sticks or MP3 players.

6) Most important of all, iPod dock on the top of the speaker. I put almost all of my music in my iPhone.

7) Lastly, the speakers sound pretty good! And I'm not sure if there is any other active speakers that got the above functions, sound good and look as good. :dribble:

My Sub woofer: BK XLS200

Cost: Around SGD$800. I got a friend to help me buy in UK.

Reason I got this is the reviews are pretty ok and it looks good with my Maxi. :P

My blu-ray/CD player: OPPO BDP-93

Cost: SGD$899 at Adelphi.

Reason I got it is good reviews.

My processor: UMC-1

Cost: USD$499 exclude shipping

I used this as a receiver for all HDMI inputs. (Blu-ray, Starhub TV setup box, media player)

My media player: AC Ryan

Cost: Can't remember cos I bought this 2 years ago.

I use this to store all my movies.

Bro, do you have difficulty running the cables through the cable management hole from your atacama stand? The reason I ask is because I'm planning to get a atacama nexus 6i stand (for my rear speaker) but dont know whether a terminated cable (with banana plug) will be able to pass through this speaker stand hole :( Can share how do you did yours?

Strange. I thought I replied you a few days ago? I did not use the hole of the stand.

I decided to take a few photos of the holes.

For those looking for dehumifier, you can get more and cheaper variety in HK.

I bought one from Fortress during my trip a few months back. I got it for slightly more than SGD$250.

Haa... I went yesterday to get 1 part. Today another part... haa...

Btw, I forget to put the price. I got each part for around $6. :sport-smiley-004:

Hi Kim76, i enjoy reading your post and wish i am as resourceful as you when buying home stuff online. :good:

I liked your wall partition espeically. overall very nicely done up !

How is the water filtration system ? I did not consider this when i renovate the house. Not sure if it is too late... as i have already fix all the water point. Do u need to intall extra water point for the system or it co share with the "normal " water point?

Yesterday i saw 3M water filtration promotion in IKEA bronchure. No sure if it is the same as yours. Appreciate your reply.

The water filter is working fine! :good: :good:

There is no need to install additional water point. Just need an extension out from the kitchen tap connection. Ya. (co share with the "normal " water point)

Just need to drill holes for the faucet on the solid surface and mount the filter. That's all.

I attached a photo for better understanding.

Hi kim76 et al,

Can you share how your electrician charge you for cove light installation? If a row of cove light involves 2 units of 4 ft each joined together, does he charge 2 light points cost? Mine charges $38 + $10 installation cost per light point. For the 2 units of 4 ft, installation cos (excluding the t5 light itself) already set me back by $96. Very expensive way to install...

Rgds,

Luxray
