kim, hold your freight forwarder/daigou orders...this option could be a better deal as there's a bunch of these service providers on TB who focus only on shipping:

taobao CN-SG shipper

I like that they explain clearly how the shipping is calculated, and they support payment by UOB and DBS.

In english,

Below 11kg,

First 500g - rmb68

Subsequent 500g - rmb20

e.g. 1 kg = 68+20 = rmb88

Above 11kg,

Every kg - rmb30

e.g. 11kg = 11*30 = rmb330

Volumetrically,

Volume = length (cm) * width (cm) * height (cm)/6000 = volumetric weight in kg

e.g. the box may weigh 1 kg but if it's dimensions are 20 x 30 x 40, then the volumetric weight is 20*30*40/6000 = 4 kg, then you will be charged for 4kg

Not sure if this is more competitive than the amcon express one - anyone can verify ?

Btw, out of curiosity, for those of you who paid by Visa, was there any additional admin charge imposed by Alipay ? If SGD is strong, it would be cheaper for me to pay that way than to use my china bank account ... :P

This look much more ex than 65diagou :dunno:

65diagoushipping.png

For 65diagou,

Below 50kg,

1st 500g = $5.70

Sub 500g = $1.70

So 1kg only $7.40 (The above shipper is 88rmb/5=$17.60)

11kg will be = 5.7+(21x1.7)= $41.40 (The above shipper is 330rmb/5=$66)

But if 30kg will be = 5.7+(59x1.7)=$106 [The above shipper is (30rmbx30)/5=$180]

Still more ex leh..... :jawdrop:

But of course 65diagou got 8% agent fee on item & shipping cost!

I still think 65 is cheaper. But of course amcom will be cheaper for bulb purchases la

eh, out of curiosity, did you manage to work out how much your daigou shipment cost added to your item cost, e.g. added x% to the TB item cost ?

My item cost = $185

Shipping weight = 17.6 kg, so shipping cost = 5.7+(35x1.7)=$65.20

Agent fee = (8%x185)+(8%x65.2)=$20

Total cost= all 3 above add together.

Shipping cost is 35% of item cost but I got a speaker stand that is big and it already take up 70% of the weight!

I bite the bullet and order a floor standing lamp I mentioned yesterday.

Because it was at 50% discount and the offer last only for another 28 hrs.

Item cost: 389 rmb + 16rmb domestic delivery = 405rmb/4.9= $82.65

Shipping cost by sea = 83x29x13=5.22kg (Volumetic) = 5.7+(10x1.7)= $22.70

Agent cost = 8%(82.65+22.70) = $8.43

hmm, interesting percentage...wonder if it will be lower lower if there isn't a large item in there cos repacking those together theoretically should save $$ .... :dunno:

need to do some calculations
