huh??? the Joker contractor is not the carpenter, you should work with your carpenter directly since you know the main con is a Joker.

i agreed with May_dream1, get ann to relax and let you deal with the Joker. baby and mother are most important!

The joker contractor happens to be the boss of the carpentry as well...

He maybe the boss of carpentry but he is not the carpenter.

Same as my carpentry... the one quote the fee is not the one that do the measurement, the one do the measurement is not the one that fit the hardware. Although they happen to work in the same company but they are really different people for different job.

It should be transparent to me. You cock up the timing you answer. Especially so if you're the boss. Why am I paying if I'm doing your job? Seriously..

If you put it this way, then who suffer? Most boss are too busy or cant be bothered, then miscommunication occurred, delay happened again and again. Bear in mind you are engaging a contractor, not ID; you are suppose to do the ID job, coordinating with all parties to ensure smooth progress.

EDITED TO ADD: my reno is different, my best friend whose is a architect builder do the job of ID and all coordinatiing works for me with all his various group of workers (tiler, plaster, builder, painter, cleaner, hacking crew, carpenter, plumber and electrician) to deliver my place in 5 weeks with no delay, from complete tear down and rebuild.

This is the reason why this forum existed in the first place. Consumers pay to outsource tasks that cannot be done by themselves. ID or otherwise, you accepted the job the responsibility is yours especially when you choose to push back the delivery. If I run the job myself then it's incredibly stupid to hire the main con in the first place. You want to earn your fair share, you do your fair share. You screw up, I hold you responsible. Either way it's not my company to run. how the heck i know when he got resources to put at my place. This is plain silly assumption.

Your wife already said your contractor very blur, very disorganized... then the more you should constantly remind him and breezing down his neck, not just simply boh chup. Not asking you to know when he has resources to continue to work on your place, just remind him will do. I am trying to share with you how to manage your reno to ensure smooth progress, why you say this is stupid assumption? :furious:

Because it is really stupid when my wife is due and my priorities MUST be with my kid. Hindsight always have 20/20 vision but it's useless already. On a professional level, he made the decision, he answer for it.

Both you and your wife should let go for now, family comes first.

Remember to show us the picture of your dragon baby.

taichipanda, i know your good intention but now its too late to tell marble to coordinate it himself since its already left 3 days and reno will be done. his worry is now on wife and baby.... what you are telling him now is of no value anymore.

so just encourage him with good words, ya? and look forward to a new baby born among us. :yamseng:

Thedottyness, I presume you wouldnt be doing your confinement in your new house right. I think better not, carpentry will create alot of dust, even after moving in, and numerous time of vacuming and mopping, the place still feel dusty.

Better move in after your confinement, let them clean up the house for your baby 1st mth celebration yah.

Hi,

New here and just wondering why is there a need for so many ethernet points? Thanks!

Erm.. might be a geek thing but here's a non-exhaustive list of reasons why I did it.

1) Do now so all can be concealed and neater

2) Wifi can get congested i.e. you transfer large amount of data can affect other users.

3) For wifi to cover the WHOLE house you need to have high transmission power, btw FYI, wifi runs on 2.4GHz which is the same as your microwave.. :jawdrop: Which means, if the output is high enough the antenna can cook. I dont really want to cook anything nor risk anything to be cooked. Studies can say whatever but if my microwave can cook my wifi can too. Remember a small tealight candle can keep food warm too.

4) Ethernet has higher speed, up to 10-100 times faster than wifi anytime.

5) Common set-top box by MDA/IDA/Whatever A. More likely than not your future set-top boxes gonna look like what MIO has to offer. If you want paid tv in your room you need ethernet.
