petalfruit 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 Another round of meeting with ContractorFinally chosen all our laminates.. and confirm the build-ins in order to start carpentry works... *SIGH* My contractor is super disorganized. Good thing he has his wife keeping him on track and giving him the occasional It's nice to see our balcony flushed to the living.. and the roof is FINALLY going to go up. We also decided to build some ledges in the shower area versus buying bathroom accessories which tend to fall apart within the year.We are suppose to choose paint colours at the moment.. Can't quite decide if I should leave the kids room alone or make them colourful!
petalfruit 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 Hi thedottyness, Making de ledge is a smart idea. More durable in de long run. However de width seems too little?
marble 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 Hi thedottyness, Making de ledge is a smart idea. More durable in de long run. However de width seems too little? It's 4.5 inches. Should be able to put most of the things. Probably looks skinny because it's really long.
potatoes 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 It's 4.5 inches. Should be able to put most of the things. Probably looks skinny because it's really long. Can I still do the ledge even if the wall tiles r already done? I would want to consider this in part 2 of my renovation. I don't like my current shampoo trays and makes it hard for me to clean the tray and the floor. Great idea!
potatoes 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 Marble, can u check with ur electrician if it is possible to have two 15A air con supply points in the EM? I m seriously considering adding another compressor for my living hall.Thanks.
thedottyness 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Hi thedottyness, Making de ledge is a smart idea. More durable in de long run. However de width seems too little? It should fit most bottles comfortably facing out, even those Dove/shampoo bottles. you wouldn't want the width to be too big, otherwise it will "eat" into your shower space. Can I still do the ledge even if the wall tiles r already done? I would want to consider this in part 2 of my renovation. I don't like my current shampoo trays and makes it hard for me to clean the tray and the floor. Great idea! yes! definitely! we added on AFTER all the wall/floor tiles are done up. actually we wanted it after changing a few of those trays in the prev. place. thedottyness 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2012 Week 5 of renovationOur renovation is coming to an end.. We are now doing carpentry works and some rectification works.. Hopefully everything will be done by early next week as our no. 3 will be arriving soon. Both of us are running out of steam, trying to make decisions on all aspects of the house. Me, in particular, as I am almost 39 weeks pregnant now. Here's a sneak peek of our carpentry works.. Done by Ah Heng. =P Final result will be slightly different as my contractor did not relay all the laminate details to them.. but they were ok with changing it last min. for me. =)One of the icky decisions we (my mum and I) made... Hahahaha~ Good thing its hidden in a corner in the kitchen. ^^ We both actually didn't wanted to install the PD door.. She wanted it to be wooden and I wanted it to be a simple bi-fold. Our compromise was this.. *Sigh* (And I am already summarizing our battle in this short paragraph.. Yes, I DO KNOW its just a common toilet door.. Apparently, my mum don't. Haha!)Hopefully we'll be posting post renovation photos "soon" and not just mid-reno stuff.. The house is slowly coming together... But would really like to see it as a home soon!
