edenstrauss 3 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) I apologise. Was never my intention to rub it in. I actually read the whole thread, i saw those photographs on discoloration on the stainless steel. If you check on the spot upon delivery, pretty sure you will reject the hood, right? I also saw the photo of the discolored box, my experience tells me that box has been left in storage for a very long time. Maybe you can try contact the distributor directly to see if you can 1-to-1 exchange at their warehouse, inspect on the spot, reject if found discoloration, exchange until you found one without discoloration. I will do just that if i am you.The photo of the disclosured box belonged to the first set. The second set had no discoloration on the box.And like what I have suggested, those discolourations were not easily seen & looked faint when the item was lying in the box becox the brushed stainless steel finishing was strong in reflecting light... The hood was extremely heavy. We require 2 persons to bring it out & even then, they were already panting hard from the bulky weight. After installation, those spots became alot more obvious but what shocked us was those spots multiplied over a few days after installation & we had jux used it for cooking up a simple meal about a couple of days after, whipping up a plate of fried caixin vegetables & fried scrambled eggs on the nonstick pan.We are not implying that all Electrolux products are bad. Electrolux products came a long way & it was a Swedish brand( like Ikea) who made it big with their vacuum cleaners which we had to admit were good. We had 1 which is still serving us well in its 11th year in our home. But it's a great pity that our Electrolux experience with their supposedly powerful chimney hood had to turn out this way. I m sure nobody in their right frame of mind would go & bad mouth any brands or shops for no rhyme or reason. It is not our idea to hurt the ELectrolux brand name with this thread. We were taking steps to share our objective experiences as a consumer with photos as evidence to substantiate our claims, which is sadly still lacking in forums. And if u aren't aware of it, it's very time consuming for us to edit photos, collect our thoughts about how we were going to express our stressful experience in the forum. To sum it up, it was emotionally draining for us to write such a detailed adverse feedback online & publish it for all to see. There is a lot of negativity involved & we hope that this will be the first & last detailed reporting we will be writing for bad shopping experiences. We prefer giving glowing reports as it promotes satisfaction & happiness for all parties who t involved. If u checked out my other threads, we have had breezy experiences with other contractors becox we did our home work, reference checks before we engaged people or their services. However, we were jinxed on this Electrolux purchase becox what worked so well previously didn't apply for this one purchase. edenstrauss 3 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Please watch your tone!Like what I have requested of u in a civilized statement, please refrain from stirring up trouble in our threads. We do not have the time & effort to deal with further trouble coming from blunt forumers like yourself who jump to blind conclusions without reading up the full story & who is likely to be related to those installers or HN staff mentioned in this thread. As such, we would greatly appreciate it if you could jux rest your case & stop making it worse for us as consumers who made an effort to share our poor experiences. If you r indeed related to any of the parties (electrolux, harvey norman staff, their installer & the installer for our hood) as mentioned in this thread, and think that this is a feasible method to seek redress for your friend's grievances, and should we ultimately incur any harassment at our home or in person after this Electrolux episode, we will not spare any efforts in reporting you & the rest to the police. Please take note on that. albertchng 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 The 2nd set maybe just as old as the 1st set, wouldn't surprise me the whole lot is sitting together in a corner in their warehouse... or else how to explain why both set got discoloration on the stainless steel. Maybe the 2nd box is stacked directly below the 1st box which is on the very top of the lot; so no discoloration on 2nd box. Sometime it make me wonder how fast the retailers are selling that particular make and model of the hood and how fast the warehouse is clearing the old stocks.Lastly, did you try clean the stainless steel using the stainless steel cleaner from 3M? If I am harassed in anyway, i wont hesitate to take legal action against you. Please mind your language: who is the one whose harressing & stalking in sparking off this???I didn't need to say much but viewers could see that you had started off finding trouble with our purchase with such tactlessness. If u aren't related to the people whose mentioned in this thread, then why appear so defensive & speaking up for its installers & belittling us to the extent that it was my fault & not Harvey normsn's or it's installers when what we have gone through had been so blatant for all to see???U had refused to lay off & continued on. I m sure I need not say much but readers for this thread could see for themselves whose the stalker & the possible identity of this stalker here in this thread. So if u think u could win a case like that here in singapore in going to court & receive tonnes of $, then go ahead & good luck to u! If really you are so tactful, this unfortunate incident should be resolve successfully between all parties; why need to post your grievances here?If u have such negative thoughts pertaining to adverse feedbacks posted here, then u r in the wrong crowd since you have such fault finding mentality.U r beyond reasoning becox u don't even take the time to read up what's going on. I have already written in my earlier threads that I would be starting such a thread even before I chose Electrolux. It seems like you are mirroring your exact thoughts that you would use the forums as a tool for solving your problems here, and in this case, renovation related matters. If u think that I m posting the thread to get back at Electrolux or Harvey Norman, I would assure u that we are definitely not like minded becox I have proven records of posting the works of all the contractors who had done stuff for our home and that their assignments with us were happy ones for work well done!U r definitely picking up a fight with me again & this is for all on renotalk forum to judge for themselves. U can fight it out on your own should u see the desire to do so but please do so elsewhere! Edited February 23, 2012 by edenstrauss
