persistent 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2012 I just did my reno last year - Aug 2011. My contractor was honest to tell me that thedifference between solid top and granite is only about S$200 for my 14 ft work top? I was quoted S$75/- per ft for my solid top vs S$90/- per ft for granite top.. In the end I choose solid topcos cant stand the joint line on granite top. MdmNeo 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2012 so you choose solid surface? good luck, very bad experience with solid surface, the join line is nice, but after 3 months my join line became yellow colour, then when i cook in the kitchen, i carry my hot pot, due to the heat,i release and place the pot on my kitchen top and i smell plastic and a yellow colour stain mark, gosh! basically when i change my kitchen top to quartz top, my old solid surface top is full of scratches and stain everywhere.. Zzzzif i compare 3 solid surface granite and quartz..solid surface is the woste... not very cheap, but can only be beautiful up to 3 months (cheap things no good one, chinese translate haha)Granite durable, but scare of water stain and acid..(middle $$, not bad, but colour limited)quartz stone top is the best, (i'm using now) i can even pour lemon juice on top! (granite can't) (expensive, can use forever?)
Tirimisu 4 Report post Posted September 26, 2013 Puzzle why do some ID say quartz is more exp than granite Their answer is because Quartz is new in singapore....Isit true???? Can anyone advise
gryffindor 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2013 Nope. Quartz is more expensive than granite. I'm talking about established brands like caesarstone or silestone that is.
