Does Your Contractor Charge You Twice For The Same Cabinet For L Shaped Kitchen Cabinet?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is it true that if the kitchen cabinets is L shaped, the area where the corner is will be counted double? See my kitchen layout below. My ID said the contractor will charge twice for the corner of the L shape although the cabinet is the same. The kitchen door is shifted to the left, aligned with the wall. So now my kitchen cabinet is 40 ft for top and bottom and I think I am ripped off!

Any advise?

Apparently true as I have checked with a few contractors and IDs when I was planning for a L shaped kitchen cabinet.

Your kitchen quite huge... wall on right before the rubbish chute is about 11 ft, wall next the doorway to living is about 7 ft, if you create a L shape kitchen cabinet, by right the carpenter will charge you 11+5=16 ft in total length, not 11+7=18 ft.

For a kitchen this big, there is no need to create full top + bottom cabinet (so out-dated design!).
