jackio1917 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) Btw, started to scout for a contractor last weekend only to realise that most of them are still close for CNY. Even most lights and accessories shop in Balestier is closed. Anyway, we checked out a pole system wardrobe and now awaiting for quotation (4m wardrobe in master bedroom). My Boy got the loft bed idea when we staycation at festive hotel Sentosa. Search the internet and found this Ibenma loft bed which cost $1,800 . and that is only bed + stairs, table not included. http://www.ibenma.com.sg/proshow.asp?id=1658Tried Ikea too but not suitable thus thinking of customised the loft bed for him. potatoes 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) Hi Potatoes, thanks for the information. Yup, mine also need to plaster everything include ceiling. Never realise the cost till i read renotalk. Got a shock and then contemplated to keeping it (save $$$$)but need to knock off some display area on the wall, then the lobang how? So in the end decided to just pain pain one time plaster the whole unit. There is also 2 Roman column decoration that strecth from floor to ceiling in the living room, intend to remove them as well but the flooring....... Hmm.......You are right! It is wise to do a one time off and plaster the whole unit.... that was what I did too, except certain aircon casing still have rockstone on it. ID siad it was impossibleto plaster plastic casing which also had rock stoned. So i had to live with it in all the bedrooms as replacing them would mean more $$$...Better remove the Roman column if you intend to have a modern theme. I also had my Roman pillars hacked off..... including the curved corners of the walls..... Everything is now straight and smooth...... u may visit my blog to see the before and after. All the best for the reno journey. Hope it will be smooth smooth.... jackio1917 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 First draft on layout for the houseStill not satisfied with the living room. Too much space wasted.
May_dream1 14 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 Why don't you do a false tv console slight after the beam then put the sofa against the wall where your tv console is right now.... then from dining table also can see the tv if the pink line after the dining table is a glass panel.... NeoBY 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 Is the toilet pre-reno state? Very good condition!!
piknik 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 No shoe cabinet? You have enough counter space to prepare food at the kitchen counter or not? The space in between the hob n sink seems narrow. I think may_dream's suggestion for tv console position is not bad, ppl can always look up to see who coming to the house instead of turning their heads back. And having empty space in your living room is actually not bad. Got air flow. Got light. Got a feeling that your house is not too cramp n narrow.
jackio1917 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Hi NeoBy, yes, the toilet iis pre-renovation. The house is very well maintain but old. Thus plan to major overhaul. Hi May_dream1, thanks for the idea, good suggestion. Draft 2Hi,piknik,the layout of the kitchen will be exactly like this. Not much space but workable. (Heehee, think the draft not very accurate).Photos are my current rental unit which is the same layout as my HDB. May_dream1 14 Report post Posted February 4, 2012 Not sure you believe fengshui but as I know, stove should not be against the same wall as the bed.... But your layout have the master bed against the stove. Secondly, the walking space between the master bed and wardrobe seem a bit small. You sure you want to make the walking space so tight??
