Erwinong 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2011 Hi everyone,I would like to check for your home reno, do you do the final painting before or after installing the switches? The painter wants to paint only after all the switches are up. But from my previous home experience, no matter how careful, they will paint onto the switch edges. Is it unreasonable to ask the painter to paint everything and I install the switches later? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Johnson Lee 1 Report post Posted December 26, 2011 U can always request it provided u do not need e painter to do anymore paint touch-ups as ur wall will definitely be dirty by e installation of switches. A good n professional painter will usually do a final touch up of paintwork after everything installed.
Erwinong 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2011 Ok thanks.Looks like I have no choice. Didn't really know that the walls will be dirty again after switches installation. I was thinking if I could just clean away the dirt. But maybe there might be some paint chipped off? In which case, getting the painter back again will incur extra costs. yoongf 11 Report post Posted December 27, 2011 If u got those switches with detachable faceplate, then dun install the faceplate while painting first.Normally, electical works come in first.

Just what I was thinking also. Think I will install that myself later. Thanks!Should be easy to install the faceplate? Just click onto the "switch holder"?
