Best is that if you suspect your house got termites, please take photo of the signs of possible termite infestation and ask a few professionals. They should be able to give you some advice. Most common sign of termite infestation is discarded wings or faeces (that looks powdery), I have attached an image here to help. I found this article to be of help to you regarding signs of termite infestations as well as behaviour and characteristics of termites.
