Who Is Responsible

Recommended Posts

Hi All, i just bought a resale flat but had not go for even 1st appointment yet. My wife and me decided not to keep the platform in the MBR, so intend to ask the seller to hack it down as we are not going to undertake the platform. My question is if after hacking off the platform and my laminate floor is damage, do the seller need to take responsible to renovate it back with the laminate or they can dont do it. Pls advice.

Best person to ask is your housing agent on all these questions, please do not forget you are paying him/her commission. He/She must be able to provide you all the answers.

Best person to consult is yor housing agent. However, I thought once u buy the house, the buyer will decide what to hack and what not to hack. The seller sells the whole house to u, it is really up to u what u want to do with it.

If the platform is approved by HDB during the time when it is installed by the seller then it is really up to you(your responsibility) whether to keep it or remove it as your buy the house "As it".

If u did not highlight the removing of the platform in the OTP then seller can reject your request.

the hacking of platform is requested by buyer or the HDB officer during inspection.

If I'm the seller. I will not bother.

i assume u had exercise the OTP. If during the signing of OTP. Buyer never request.

I will ignore the request.

If the buyer b'coz of this don't want to attend the 1st appointment.

I will "eat" his 5% deposit and look for another buyer

BUT

If the request is from HDB officer.

Then seller has to hack it.
