Hahaha.....yes, same person.

ID = interior Designer. To me, is someone who has gained academic qualification in the subject matter and also experience. Someone who helps me design the concept, colour and that includes furnishing so everything goes seamlessly. I don't have the money to pay for a ID.

How's yours going on?

Yup, i agreed with your definition of ID. Andrew would be considered as ID for some people too but to me, he is still a contractor.

My bro paid for an ID and ID will choose bed, sofa, dining table, lightings, curtains, etc etc to furnish the whole house..... Then overlooking the whole renovation and buying all the necessary items that are needed during renovation. Everything are seamless like what NeoBY says.

I think there are not that many IDs in Singapore. they just called themselves ID.

And ID quotations are more "attractive" than contractors'.

The quotations from ID are more expensive because they really design and plan the whole theme. It's the service you are paying for. I shouldn't have to choose my lights, colours, beds, sofa, curtains etc if I get an ID.

the things they choose also very ex.... just furniture alone, i think my brother already spent nearly 100k (and its GBP, not SGD). The ID he choose take commission based on the items bought so the more ex items bought, the higher his commission. That is why only choose ID if you have lots of money to spend.

Yeap, that's why I call our local ones as contractor, or project managers/coordinators.

IDs need to sell their ideas and concepts, always sharpening their knives. Some of the IDs "name" their customers as "Robert Toh".

Just saw the first draft of the 3D drawings...waiting for version 2 this week. Maybe I should start using "contractor" for him too since he din designed the concept I wanted at the first set of drawings....

Just contacted my ID. He's in reservist. Carpentry gonna be up this Wed.

So the contractor won't be there to oversee the installation of carpentry work??

Hahaha....I didn't expect any design since mine is only kitchen and toilets and according to my specifications.

What was your requirement? He did draw the kitchen cabinet I wanted.
