Hi Everyone,

Been reading other forumers reno t-blog and tempt me to start a mini blog of my new house now. I am newbie to the blog so hope that I don't bore any one of you.

After trying for a few times balloting and BTO exercises, finally in year 2008 - we are successfully in the queue to choose our dream home. After a long wait for more than 3 years - at last we have collected our keys on 27 Sep 2011. We are so excited that we actually went down to our new home on the very day to open the door and do the simple opening ceremony praying. Follows is the floor plan of my new house.

After we have collected the keys, we have started to source for ID/contractor to reno for our new house. I don't have any ideas on the renovation and have no ideas on the theme to use. Our concern just need a simple and cosy house reno that also suitable for my 3 kids.

I have came across a few contacts and decided to check whether they are HDB registered contractor before shortlisted my choice.

After go through a list of contractors pamphlets and done checking at the HDB web and discussion with hubby, we have shortlisted the following ID/Contractors for quotation:

1) Orient Reno

2) Designzone

3) ArchWave Interior Design

4) ID Inspiration aka Chng Poh Guan

The process of sourcing the ID is really tedious and tiring but this is also a learning experience for me.

After much consideration and discussion with hubby, our final decision - we have chosen ID Inspiration aka Chng Poh Guan.

Hi Bro, thanks for the greeting. I will try to bring my drawings to office and scan (not 3D as my contractor always said he is not designer - can't draw 3D drawing - he only do up a simple one for our viewing). Anyway till date - We are still happy with the work being done now waiting for the capentry to finish to see the capenter quality work (so far I do like the capenter work as per I see from the show house in another unit (5 rooms) at my opp block).

Below is the list of thingy that i am getting the contractor to do:

Package of $11,388:

Designing

- perspective drawing by dedicated design team

- conceptualise space & furniture planning

- detailed floor plan layout

Masonary works

- supply & construct cabinet base (50mm ht)

- supply & construct fridge base with tiles finished (50mm ht)

- supply & construct machine base with tiles finished (50mm ht)

Plumbing works

- instllation of inlet & outlet piping for washing machine

- installation of inlet & outlet piping for kitchen sink

- installation of water heater

- installation of 2 sets of toilet accessories

- installation of kitchen sink

- installation of kitchen tap

Window works 150ft

- supply & install aluminium window grills for whole unit (NA/BA)

Electrical works

- supply labour to install ceiling lights by HDB original light point

Painting works

- to paint all walls up to 5 no. colours (ICI / Nippon paints)

- to paint all ceiling (white)

- to paint all sewerage pipes

- to paint all doors, frames & main metal gate

Capentry works

- supply labour to install cooker hob & hood

- supply & install laminated kitchen cabinet both top & bottom (23ft)

- supply & install 1 set of glass panel door

- supply & installation of solid surface top for kitchen (13ft)

- all internal carcass & panel doors (solid plywood)

- ABS trimming for all door panels

Capentry works for bedrooms

- build-in wardrobe with laminated solid plywood & sliding door for all rooms (5ft)

- build-in wardrobe with laminated solid plywood & sliding door for Masterbedroom (6ft)

Ohers

- professional project arrangement & coordination

- acid wash for whole unit

- supply labour to submit HDB application for all renovation works

- workmanship warranty for 2 years

- supply and lay protection sheet

Besides the package of $11,388, i have also got the contractor to do the following with the additional of approx. $12K:

- 10ft kitchen cabinet & 5ft solid surface for sink side

- living/dinning & passage way fasle ceiling c/w foyer

- electrical works ****/dinning f/c & foyer

- masterbedrm toilet install 10mm fixed panel temper glass c/w shower kurb

- masterbedrm toilet install cabinet c/w mirror at basin side

- side install 1no. wooden frame c/w laminated at kitchen entrance

- living install tv feature wall & tv console (6ft)

- masterbedrm & bedrm 2 bay windows install fixed panel laminated finishing

- balcony and service yard install aluminium grilles

- masterbedrm install computer table l-shape 6ft & 6ft top shelving

- bedrm 2 install study table 4ft c/w wft top cabinet

- main door entrance install 3ft shoe cabinet c/w seater

- install feature wall 1 side for hsehold shelter
