Is It The Right Time To Buy Furniture?

Hi,

I recently bought a resale hdb flat and will get the key by the end of January 2012 if everything goes smoothly. my question is when should I start to shop the furniture? I suppose it should be a good time to buy furniture around Christmas because of the promotion, like Courts now have end-year promotion. But my friend told me that after chinese spring festival, the price of the furniture will be lower?

Please give me some suggestion on when to buy furniture and you have more information on where to buy, it is also appreciate!

Well, it will be best to buy after you have actually seen your place and then decide what works best. Any time is a good time to buy furniture.

There is always some promotion going on...those high end ones will have much less, but most mass market or slightly premium ones will always have it in on form or the other since I started looking in June, there was never really any month pass by without any promotions!.

In fact, I suspect these so call promotion are just really promoting thier products rather then a real price discount....

You shuould time your purchase according to your needs and not promotions....

If the display set in the showroom is the last piece, then if you don't mind that it is a "New used piece", it would usually be a bargain since it is usually priced at near their cost price.

1st, start window shopping.

See see look look. Take your own time , own schedule. to shop around.

best time.. wait until reno almost done. Then buy.

This is to prevent when there is a delay on the reno side and the furniture shop say.. they cannot store the item any longer.

There is not best time,

U get ur key @ Jan , which is quite close to CNY.

U might not able to start ur reno early.

CNY 2011 fall on 23 , 24 Jan (Mon & Tues)
