DingDong 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) Hi all,Would appreciate some advices from all forumers. The areas of rooms & hall are 15sqm/13.5sqm/18sqm respectively.Based on a link posted, the btu required are about 10k/9k/12k respectively.I went down to the Gain City Expo Sale ytd looking for a system 3 aircon. As only 1 room will be frequently used, I am looking for a non-inverter system, however the salesguy there told me non-inverter will be phased out in next 3yrs and servicing may be difficult by then?!?!He recommended me the following inverter units:1) Mitsubishi Electric - BTU of 25400, with 2x9k btu + 1x18btu $2909 exclude brackets +$150, upgrade of insulation +$1802) EuropAce - BTU 28000, with 2x9k btu +1x18btu $2499 exclude brackets +$150, upgrade of insulation +$180I am confuse if is better to get the inverter or non inverter as the pricing is about $1k+ difference? What is the cost savings in SP bills btw the 2 types??Has anyone use EuropAce before and how it is?*Usage for aircon is average : 1rm x 9hrs daily, 2nd room x 8hrs a week, hall x 5hrs a week max? Thanks many many!!! jackwolf 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) In fact a non-inverter system 3 will do, if you are cost concern. Efficiency is one which is subjective, depending on your usage. In some case it might takes many many years to so call "breakeven" the initial additional cost you paid. And that's provided the aircon lasted so long.Non-inverter system 3 usually comes in 2 compressor, usually a 09k for a single room and a 12k for the other two rooms sharing. In your case just need to upgrade one indoor unit from a 09k to a 12k indoor (and the piping as well). Then use the 12k indoor for the hall and the other two 09k indoor for the two rooms. connect it in such a way > 09k compressor goes to masterbed room, 12k compressor goes to hall and the "less frequent use" room. the 12k is sufficient for the 18sqm hall, provided you did not on the other "less frequent use" room at the same time. My dad house using this combination. Only problem you might face is - most brand are selling standard 3x 09k indoor, so you need to ask around and check if upgrade option is available. jackwolf 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2011 in fact for aircon best is check around within the retail... some website such as panasonic dun how their non-inverter aircon even they sell in retail.. from what I know, toshiba, panasonic, Mitshibutsi ELectric, Daikin is still carrying the non-inverter system 3.. but like i say, problem is whether they sell with an option to change one of the indoor unit. You might like to try retail like naturalcool, gaincity. sometime they have extra 12k indoor unit which they will let go..
JanK 1 Report post Posted November 11, 2011 My 3room flat will be using system 3 (9+9+12k). According to my ID, only Daikin have non-invertor with such combination, and using only 1 compressor.
