Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Need some advice on how to save my leather couch.

I have been cleaning my leather couch using damp cloth and wiping dry immediately using another dry cloth.

Cleaning around once every week or 2 weeks. However recently i notice cracking and peeling on the couch.

is there anyway to salvage? pls help. Looking forward to hear from the leather expert in this forum. :)

Looks like the top coat is coming off. This is not supposed to happen best to go back to the people you bought from.

there actually not much you can do(from the photos u share).

can see e peeling situation have already start to form & pops up.

Yes,it will get worse as days goes by.

(from the photos,it looks like not totally genuine full leather ba)

repair was not worth it,unless you got sentimental feel for it.

Regret to inform you that what you bought is not real leather. Looks like PU leather. I have seen far too many of these fake leather sofas being disposed at my lift landing by my neighbors. It is ironic that your leather cleaning method is actually absolutely correct for both real and fake leathers and yet you are being penalized. :furious:

Well, I've been there, done that. Many of friends came across these thing too. Many of them out there claimed to be leather but in fact most are just PU or PVC. That's why I don't buy from retailers anymore. Sick and tired of being con. :furious:

Not all retailers are cheats, not all upholsterers are saints. I think tarring everyone with the same feather doesn't make sense.

I think it is important for all consumers to be careful, I suggest to everyone to not commit to buying anything without taking some time to cool off and make a rational decision.

same prob here; i bought my black repro barcellona sofa from Comfort. it became like that within 6 months, and mind you, i never sat on it at all as it was just a show piece at home! it is still disintegrating right now.

I don't think I've mentioned something like : every single of retailers are cheats. I'm just saying I (meaning me) don't buy from them anymore. Btw, most of them are. Just happens to know because many friends did 'kena' cheated.

Thank you.

What makes you think that upholsterers are all honest? Most retailers are honest there are just some black sheep. You are just here to promote you upholsterer.

Ermm, there again. I don't think I said anything like : all upholsterer are honest. Think you're a bit sensitive? I just state what I think and feel. Nothing personal. I do feel 'most' retailers are just trying to confuse consumer, and that's for what I think and feel. Cos I do come across many cases from friends and me myself. You don't know what I see and heard, so don't judge me. You don't know me either.

As for promoting my upholsterer, yes. Then what? Cos I'm very happy with their services and such, that made my upholsterer and me become friend. If something is good, I don't mind to recommend to other people. Case closed?

Thank you.
