Anyone knows where to make nice quality Wooden blinds at a good price?

Looking for such e.g.

Woodenblinds.jpg

There are so many types,it's making me dizzy. At the speed we go, we won't make it in time for CNY.

Spotlight Plaza Sin carries a good variety, but we are sceptical about DIY. They do installation but at additional charge per set, and their installation schedule was already full up to CNY.

Wanted to use my old curtains but the new windows are just too long!

ON TOILET BOWLS:

I bought 2 different WCs with Geberit system installed, and I must say Geberit is nothing really fantastic. Luckily I had 1 of those handheld jetspray installed at the side! Life-saver!

1 of our toilets is P type toilet, water pressure is not high, and hence my dual flush buttons became 1 single flush (according to Plumber). I thought there was some problems with the buttons. But I guess Geberit still works better for this P-type, otherwise, it could have been worse?!! *Self-consolation*

Hi Pinkwhale,

Sorry not good w uploading, they take sucha mighty long time, RT shld do sthg abt it.

Just a quick picture here as the backyard is not ready yet, carpentry after CNY as haven't decided on design. Well, these mosaic tiles (Honeycomb) are very easily scratched, not good if you don't like it to look 'used'..haha. Nevertheless, no regrets, I still like it. They feel good under feet too, mini massage! :)

Hi dopesk8 & Ipineapple (u remind me of CNY!),

U can try Hup Kiong @Balestier. Light blue subway tiles, yes apparently so...Uploaded a few pictures here (fr.HK~ got Panadol & Charcoal pills too) that will prob match what u want. Chk out the Balestier stretch of Tiles shops (Hafary,Hup Kiong, Lian * *sthg...), one stop station!

Soon Bee Huat has nice big showrooms esp the Changi branch, has a good collection of Europe tiles (If u care abt country of make) and some are discounted (but limited quantity). We had fun shopping for tiles! Renovation should be an enjoyable process too :)

Some of the tiles are so pretty, am sure it will turn outstanding with some planning.

For us, we prefer to go easy on tiles, and do more with furnishings & accessories!

Hi pinkwhale,

Yeah backyard = serviceyard (where my compact 8kg French washer goes)...my main con called it backyard, easier I guess!! Yeah retro look, waiting for carpentry (Pending~after CNY) to complete the picture.

The honeycomb is Matte feel, they actually carry a slightly smaller size with slightly more sheen (semi-gloss?), I guess that will be more hardy & scratch-resistant. I actually got the sample for the small one (unknowingly), and it appeared to be slightly more scratch-proof. Pls take note, whoever gonna use it...as we did not get any warnings for floor usage.

If u are not using any matte tiles for floor, then it shouldn't be any problem. Glossy surfaces seem to be better maintenance. We used glossy laminate for our 1st kitchen, and now we use Matte laminate for our 2nd kitchen as we wanted something different. Maintenance wise, so far I've only used my oven twice & cooked once, so can't really comment! :)

So where are u using your honeycomb mosaic?? Using black or white grout? Where is Unlimited? Haven't heard of it before. I also really liked this type below, maybe for my next house! haha.

Do you know, the tilers actually did my subway tiles wrongly!! While I was overseas...this is what happened! They rectified it after my hubby updated me via whatsapp (too late) & I was like WHATTT??!! Sucha waste of time and resources! :( Looking back, it was quite hilarious. Poor tiler!

wrongsubwaytiles.jpg

Another thing with thicker grout lines, maybe dirt gets stuck more easily. When the flooring was done & after chemical wash, we still see white & black grout lines, the tilers blame it on the chemical wash guys and vice versa. Whatever, as long as they tried their best (they came back to touch up), we are ok.

Thanks bigbag for sharing the pics!! :dribble::dribble::dribble:

I'm using that smaller size one with the semi-gloss finish. Hopefully its really more scratch resistance

Think you already saw, I'm using it as a vanity countertop with grey grout.

Unlimited Tiles is at Whampoa shared by rottenramone when I was searching for my honeycomb. But in the end I got it at hup kiong too even though is more ex. becos hup kiong's is semi gloss while Unlimited's is matt which I feel is more prone to scratch.

I also really liked this type below, maybe for my next house! haha.

Yeah...its really nice, and its not cheap too :notti:

haha... but I guess not all tiler knows what is subway tiles. so they just did in the conventional way... its was really funny and also super heartpain to see them removing those tiles... I can understand how that feels. Cos there was also once my tiler remove as he is not satisfied with the work, I feel the pain for him cos he needs to do it again.
