ahmedbaz 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2011 Hi All,My HDB resale buying request got rejected because of the SPR Ethnic eligibility quota. I signed the OTP on 29th Oct and that time it was fine. But when I exercised the Option after 10 days, it crossed over to the next month and now there is no eligibility. My agent suggested me to appeal/Request HDB to re-consider my application. Is there any hope? I am tensed now...Already got bank approval.

chronograph 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Can't really advice much. You are at the mercy of HDB. MP can help?Do u have a agent to represent u? Can u fault your agent? Have you sign the bank paper? Hope u did not sign it, at most lost the 5k OTP fee and pray that your seller will not sue u for any losses.Good luck. ahmedbaz 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Hi,Thanks for your prompt response. I already signed the otp and bank loan. I think then only you can go to HDB for apply. But both agreement says, if HDB rejects your application, no penalty... Am I missing something here? Pls advice...And yes, my agent told me actually that I can go ahead with the block and there is no any SPR quota restriction. What should I do...pls advice... chronograph 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 I remembered applying to HDB the day after i exercised the OTP, I paid 5k straight cause pretty sure am getting the flat. Then next, with the valuation report + OTP apply for bank loan. The bank loan paper clearly stated that if i am to cancel, there will be a % of penalty on the principal amount. That was my time in 2008. Don't know how it works now, better double confirmed on the bank loan part.

Pls advice...And yes, my agent told me actually that I can go ahead with the block and there is no any SPR quota restriction. What should I do...pls advice...I am the seller, and I had faced the same issue as you few month back. And my property got lodged by a caveat due to buyer's loan. It's a fault HDB's system, but they will never admit. Sad to say, the buyer will also loss much more.Tried get prove from HDB that the month you signed otp is stil all ethnic eligibility, and make an appeal. Fyi, our appeal unsuccessful that time, and I returned all 5k otp to the buyer.Since you already get a bank loan, a void penalty charge will definitely apply, and further more you got to remove the caveat which lodged on the seller's property (cost few hundreds) if not the seller would able to sell his house.Hope your appeal will success and do it fast. Worst case, just move on and look for another suitable flat and transferred the loan to that, can it be done? Good luck.
