Donating Furniture And Electricals To Charity?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm gonna move house soon. The buyer has requested to vacate everything, but I'm only intending to move a few things to my new home. I have a few questions:

- Some of the items are still useful (e.g. fridge, washing machine, sofa, fans, etc.). I'm wondering if there are charity organisations interested in collecting these. Any recommendations on which agency to contact?

- For the rest of the things that the charity organisations don't want, is there a cheap way to get rid of them? Any contacts?

Thanks for your help.

I remember some year back. A couple went back to their HDB block during night time.

When the lift open at their floor level, Fire shot right to their face.

Big fire right infront on the lift.

Can't remember is there any one dead but they got burn on their hand and face.

Cause.. someone thrown sofa near to the staircase and don't know why caught fire.

jialat sia...to be frank, if I die because of such thing, I sure will come back and haunt the people who dump their stuff there. curse.gif

my experience is in my old house (at outram park, now demolished by govment already). It is the old style flat, with a long straight corridor. Around twenty households side by side.

one day, there's a thick smoke coming from downstairs. my mom got scared so she locked up the whole house. That time, I was small, around P2 and very pissed that I cannot go out to play

turns out that the furniture on the floor below us catch fire. Luckily, no one got injured. No one was ever caught for putting the furniture there either.

Moral of story: please spare a thought for others. don't anyhow put stuff in corridors!!
