Electrician Refused To Shift Points Without Trunking!

Recommended Posts

I need to have some switches and power points shifted in my new HDB flat.

When I told my electrician, he refused to do so as he said this is not allowed by HDB. I was shocked as I didn't know there is such a rule! *suaku*

So after shifting the switches and power points, I will see trunking running along the walls. Isn't this so very ugly?

I'm sure many will conceal right? Perhaps illegally?

I wonder what is the reason HDB prevents us from doing this. As long as it's safe, and we are not hacking into some important structure inside the wall, there should not be any issue?

Hey shawncck,

I'm going to start reno soon. Just wondering how short is your concealed wire? If can conceal, I'd love to ask my ID to do that too :P

doing that is more like when u sell the place u may have to dig out the wire if the next buyer knows about it other then that it should be fine

even the buyer don't know about this rule or didn't spot that.

If HDB officer spot that, the seller cannot run.
