J&t Love Haven

Recommended Posts

OMG...sorry to hear that bro.

Dun worry ro, i'm sure you will work things out and have a smooth move it.

Look forward to see ur complete house soon. :thumbs up:

@IPineapple,

I wouldn't recommand you may electrician.

Pros:

1) Slightly cheaper than other quotes I get

Cons:

1) Slow as he talking his sweet time

2) he love to show us his expression that's he 'stressful'doing our points

E.g I bought clipsal 4 Gang and require to loop which means more wires are inserted into the switch thus he's having a hard time inserting without causing short-circuit .

3) always comes in the noon

4) never update owner on the progress

5) and worst case I'm as the owner got to buy extra switches and door bell for him! I was told he will buy and install for us but when I call him up.. Hey did u bought the door bell... N he said no I haven, and I was like he got to handover by today so I snake out from office to get a door bell and some extra switches for him.. Last night went for fr spot check.. And I have shortage of 2 more switches again hmm .. He is goin get it from me after meeting him latter

Contractor is good but not electrician guess many ppl face the other way

Good bless hope I have a peaceful move in experience ..:)

Ohh ya folks,

Does charging $20 for door bell inclusive of door bell or just based on having new point?

I'm having a new door bell point.

His quote did not state supply and install, just door bell for $20. But I ask him to provide door bell he say ok

And now I purchase my own door bell ($19 from CCM) can I ask him to charge labour only? ($8 for installation right) But my door bell is a new point and he promise me to get a door bell for me.

I know is just a small issue, but the main thing I want him to know we r paying him his pay cheque and the owners are not easily bullied by him

If you have purchased your door bell, then no choice, got to ask electrician to do. But you didn't, why don't buy a battery operated door bell? Don't need to connect electrical line to the door bell.

haha on Sat was chaos...terrible and kang jiong experience...

Calls from furniture coming in...movers delayed...electrician screw up (blame on owner not providing enough switches) :bangwall:

Thank god my contractor there to assist and scolded the electrician :sport-smiley-004:

He went extra mile for modify my chimney and chop chop help me to settle all outstanding work...

Ohh, i think i did mentioned b4, my stupid electrician did lay Fibre Optic for me and i cant use due to OpenNet will not authorize any 3rd party installation. So die die i need to pay $235 (inclusive of GST) i really hope that IT show tomorrow will have competitive promotion for FTTH~ zz

Ohh and guess what ..last night 1030pm...my 2 common rooms lights and my MBR toilet light all went off "pop" gone case. :curse: im suspecting short circuit.....

I'm still holding his last payment at 1.7k do i need to pay him first?

How does the process work? He done all his job but it seems (higher chance) his job may be good im worried.....

Can i hold his payment? but couldn't be i hold forever?

and what is the typical warranty for electrician? 2 months? 1 year?

Your electrician doesn't seem good leh. So many problems.... Took forever to do lightings, then now short circuits.... It's not good to have short circuit often cos will spoilt yr electrical items like fridge.

Don't know abt warranty leh. You see yr contractor can help u or not loh. He recommended the electrician?

Your electrician very scary... better get a 3rd party (preferably SP) to check his work...

Better hold payment until no prob...

he is giving me lots of trouble...

When i call SP Power do i need to pay them?

If I'm not wrong, there's a blogger here who paid $200+ for certification from SP, after electrical work completion, but you might need to book appointment first. Call SP and check the exact date for visiting, then you won't delay the payment to the electrician for very long.

Wow,! $200+ that is expensive is SP power did not mentioned about the fee ...

Now I'm worried he's not license electrician liow

Will he (electrician) get in trouble if he's really unlicensed after I call SP service for verification?

Why you worry if he gets into trouble? You will be in trouble too if your electical works not done properly. Is he from your ID/contractor?

You won't want to get short circuit everytime you on an electronic appliance right? You might want to hint him that you are asking SP to do a certification after he finishes his electrical works. If he fears, either he will do his job properly and quickly, or he will run away without finishing his job. If he chooses the second, then you save your money and engage a new electrician to complete his job.

Basically,

Is he recommended by my contractor...say his price is slightly cheaper.

And i called up SP Power and they told me is not under their care. They only focus on the power meter.

This "Electrical Inspection" is done by EMA (http://www.ema.gov.sg/) to hire private LEW..

Now i have no idea where i should start with.

Use back him to rectify the problems and check on all the circuits?

or what else i can do since SP is not handling the checks......

Btw,scolded the electrician that he said everytime the last payment owners do not want to pay giving lots of excuses ....i was like smacking his head down...

@ayazumi,

His job just completed 2 days ago.

and the problem start popping out....

So should i pay him the remaining balance after his verification on this sat? (without having ppl to certified his work?)

Recommended by your contractor, then ask your contractor on what to do loh. if you keep on having power short circuit, before 1 year, all your electrical appliances going to break down one by one.... then you have to spend more to replace your fridge, washing machine, TV, Aircon etc..... that is even more headache leh..... even though got warranty for the appliances but then when fridge don't work for just 1 day, already a major headache leh.

how to check? today check might be ok... tmr might short circuit leh.....

Now I start to recall what is LEW. I handled two renovation for my ex company. It was a separate cost to get someone to come and certify the electrical work. This cannot be done by the electrician himself because even if got problem, he will certify no issues. If the contractor recommended you this electrician, like what May said, tell your contractor about and get his advice. If he gives you craps, I don't think you should pay your electrician. You already know there is a problem with the electrical work, what for pay him?
