My Country Home

I noticed a lot of people not paying attention to their AV wires etc. wouldn't that spoil the whole theme?

If you decided to wall mount your TV, you can have a backing to hide your wires. If you're into Home Theater, the rear speakers shall be connected through wireless adapter or simply just go without physical surrounds.

Otherwise, you can get a TV sideboard to hold everything....

our is more towards the French country theme.

Hi Tingshen

Do u have photos of your home to share? I'm sure it must be lovely!

For the same reasons u have mentioned above, we decided to buy a TV console instead of mounting it on the wall. At least dun need to headache thinking of how to install feature walls etc to hide the wires.

For country lovers out here looking for country style deco, can try this push cart at anchor point. It is near the main entrance & the push cart name is Victoria Isabelle which sells lamps, tableware, bedding furniture & etc as on their flyer. Price wise, am not sure also.

The basement at anchorpoint, I think have a kitchen-like shop that also sells country like deco but since I didn't go inside so never look at the items there

Will do so when it's done up hehe....so far we only have the TV side board delivered (the picture I showed).

Still got bedframe, bed side table, grandfather chair, dressing table, multi-drawer cabinets, etc not yet delivered......all these takes time(and money).....mostly from Cottage Crafts and IKEA. I believe we still need to buy a lot more stuff to slowly deco the whole place.

Sofa set was from Scanteak though.....not those full fabric type....

The French-style furniture from Cottage Crafts is really nice, but gosh...so ex! Like u, we didn't buy a fabric sofa too. Bought a teak wood one from Picket & Rail.

Agree that it takes a lot of time and effort to decor the whole house. Ours is probably only abt 50% done.

Looking forward to your completed look! :)

I went to the pushcart at Anchor Point 2 weeks back. They have some really nice shabby chic decor items. Prices are ok, abt $20+ for signages, $40+ for clocks and $100+ for the lamps. They having a 10% storewide discount, but not too sure if it's ongoing.

Agree that Creations from the Heart (basement@Anchor Point) has very nice country-style decor too. That shop is actually an ID specialising in country-style reno. They sell mostly signages and decor items for the kitchen.

I was interested in that mini water dispenser similar to the office one when i saw it while passing the Creations from the Heart shop yesterday. But it would be impractical & wouldn't blend in with my simple kitchen which is not even country style.

Im still looking for some very nice 4R photo frames but very hard cos those photo frames are not particularly nice nowdays :(

Actually if u ask me, it's ok. Since u mentioned that your kitchen has a simple design and not really geared to any theme, any kind of decor should suffice. If u dun mind spending a little more, then u can buy the photo frames from Laura Ashley. :notti: Abt $50+ I think for 4R size.

Hi

Anyone has feedback of the ID firm u have chosen for country style reno?

Hi

When I was renovating my home 3 years ago, I had quotations from forestwood, cottage craft and creations from the heart. I like the quality of the stuff from forestwood and cottage craft but they serve the high-end market and were way beyond my budget. Creations from the Heart's quotation is rather reasonable but I don't really like the boss as I find him rather unfriendly. Think I've seen some forumers here complaining about him too. Ended up, I didn't engage any of them but coordinated my own projects.

Currently I'm doing some reno for my study and dining area and may be considering Country Concept. Have obtained a quote from them which is quite reasonable. Will be meeting them for a discussion next week.

hi, i have gotten kitchen cabinet quotations from cottage craft, forestwood and our own id contractor. needless to say, our contractor quoted the cheapest but he is not able to give the design and quality of the kitchen cabinets that we want. in the end, we chose forestwood because their service is prompt and good. seems honest in their opinion as well. the quality of the wood panels are good and quote is lower than that of cottage craft.

if u wan, i can pm you my forestwood designer. :)

Thanks. Do PM me your ID's contact. I think no harm asking them for a quote again since I'm still gathering quotes. :)

Hi all, after comparing all the ID, I chose Forestwood. Designer is Jessica Yeo. Actually i was comparing cottage, cottage do the quotation take damm long, i have no patience to wait. Certain items Forest quote are quite high(a few hundred more) so i slash to what cottage quote me.

Now i have a headache to find the sofa, dinning table and coffee table...some are too ex..some are nice but quality not there..haiz...

Any recommendation & i be done!

Hi xiaobudian

I've also just confirmed my reno with Forestwood! May I know what are you doing for your home and how much did they quote you? You can PM me.

Yes agree too that Cottage Crafts is taking far too long! Chased them for a few times till I gave up, hence confirmed with Forest since they gave me quite a good discount. Then Cottage finally replied after that with a much higher quote. The person I liaised with is the Manager Helen.

Try IFC at Sungei Kadut. Saw a few shops selling country-style fabric sofas. There is another shop there called Country Style Furniture, where I bought my bedroom set. Quite nice on display but quality is not too good.

Saw this shop online. You may wanna check them out:
