flermodders 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 Is Country Concept (Country Kitchen) a HDB registered renovation contractor? I could not find their company in HDB website? http://www.hdb.gov.sg/bn25/isos118p.nsf/List+by+Company?OpenView&Count=15&Start=1&RestrictToCategory=A&CurVal=Reno%20Company%20Name/There are a few firms doing country style renovation at Tanjong Katong Complex such as Visual Furniture, Impression Design Firm, Inform Design & Contracts. Not sure if anyone has experience with them on renovation?

Used to get this sort of response when I did my first reno. So for my 2nd round of reno this time, I just go for IDs who specialise in country style. Have u shortlisted those IDs whom you are interested in? A few of us here have engaged Forest Woodworking...really worth considering as their workmanship is excellent! countrylover 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2011 Not yet. My wife-to-be is quite strongly opposed to country style...haiz This is quite surprising cos it's usually the other way round. We ladies LOVE country-style but our hubbies are strongly against it! LOLMaybe u could discuss with her to see if you could just keep a room or space (eg kitchen) country-style? Then it'll not be an overkill with the entire home looking too country.
Chondro 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2011 Looks like my case is a bit of a reverse...people seem to have a misconception that guys liking country means that we are gay or something! But I really feel that Country Style gives me the coziness and warm feel.
xiaobudian 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2011 When i want to use this theme, i did alot of research n went to all the 4 specialize ID & contractor, there are English, Amercian, french, modern.. Engish use alot of brown, amercian use alot redish brown, french use alot of blue, pastel.. Modern more of the white.. My house will be a mixture of french n modern.. White glossy kitchen to make my space brighter.. Every rm will have different color theme to give different feeling.. Engish classic can blend in with manhanttan collection items.. I went to see: bulky, ex but super nice.. Like leaving in a palace

Just check with you does Forest Woodworking install those soft closing cabinets doors and drawers like Blum systems for your wardrobes and kitchen cabinets? Also my master bedroom is quite small and if I put a queen size bed, probably can only have a sliding door wardrobe which is not too country, sigh.

Also my master bedroom is quite small and if I put a queen size bed, probably can only have a sliding door wardrobe which is not too country, sigh.Yup Forest gave me all the Blum systems for drawers and doors, all included in the quotation. Actually my MBR is also very small but my carpenter then managed to give me a 3-door built-in wardrobe. I also had a queen size bed there. Discuss with your ID on space planning, I'm sure it can be done. Actually sliding doors can also be country! I purchased a sliding door wardrobe for my kids room...let me try to take a pic and post it for u here. One thing though, I went to Forest instead of Cottage Crafts cos the latter took forever to revert on a quotation and I didn't have the time and patience to wait.
