user123 5 Report post Posted September 14, 2011 If my sliding window got 2 panels only and I fixed a vertical aircon on it.Can the 2 pieces of window fully slide behind the aircon when not in use and I want to access the window?Anyone knows this?
gnipihz 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2011 Most likely not. The aircon will be mounted onto the mounting frame which is mounted unto the frame of the window. The mounting frame of the aircon uses the window frame for support hence there isn't much screws or big brackets to hang on to the wall. Gosh... I hope you get what I mean.... Pardon my bad english. hahaha. When my place has the window aircon, my window was those casement type and it's always open behind the aircon.

Pardon my bad english. hahaha. When my place has the window aircon, my window was those casement type and it's always open behind the aircon.I just installed sanyo SAC88 on my 2 pieces casement window. the window behind aircon must open when aircon is used but can be fully closed when not in use. The problem is, because the window is much larger than the aircon, so the contractor have to paste one big plywood to seal the big gap when the other side of the window is close. ugly and flimsy.I was thinking of changing the whole window to sliding window. But also need to know if both panel later can be slide behind the aircon if I want to access the window to hang clothes cos the pole is just outside this small window (upgraded utilities room).I know what u mean about the aircon bracket. I saw it. It was about only a 20cents coin thick. if there's enough gap between the window frame and the window panel, means the window panel should be able to slide over with the aircon frame attached on the window frame.can anyone help me to confirm this before I go ahead to change the whole window?Aircon installer said can, window contractor come see says cannot and need a 3 track window frame, use 2 piece for the window and another extra to install aircon. I'm confused now.
