MsChoong 1 Report post Posted October 11, 2011 I heard from my ID that solid surface is not one full piece. The best thing is you won't see the lines...
ion 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2012 I heard from my ID that solid surface is not one full piece. The best thing is you won't see the lines...How about Caesarstone ? My Caesarstone can see the joint lines. Just checking whether it is normal. Thanks.
vhardono 1 Report post Posted February 1, 2012 Solid top, eventhough 2 pieces, can be glued and cemented with the same colour/pattern,so you won't notice the line anymore
Confidential 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 If you get them in one piece would be better. Mine was in two pieces and the adhesive glueing the two chipped off.Now the ants have made their home there.

pacificblue 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2012 One of the ID I met told me solid surface if got spillage on top need to wipe of fast, otherwise the spillage might sip in and leave stain marks on top is it true? Also, soild surface can't take high temperature? If put pot that is hot on top will damage the surface? My brother also recommend me go for at least granite. Solid surface that bad meh? Solid surface that bad meh?Solid surface comes in many type of materials...1. Postform (plywood with laminate)2. Solid wood (polished and lacquer)3. Polyester/Acrylic mixed4. 100% Polyester5. 100% Acrylic6. Natural Stone (Granite/Marble/Limestone)7. Stainless Steel8. QuartzIf you are looking for low maintenance, heat resistance, stain resistance, scratch resistance and chip resistance, then only Quartz fit the bill. I only use the brands (CaesarStone and SilesStone) i trusted. They are available in premium and non-premium range; various thickness (the thicker the more $); they can be quite expensive $180 pfr for non-premium and $280 pfr for premium range. If your kitchen cabinet is 10 feet in length, most if not all solid surface will come in 2 pieces. However some materials can be polish until cannot see and cannot feel the join line.I am using CaesarStone 2141 Fresh White Quartz (20mm) for my kitchen, total of 16 feet, $4000. If you are quoted by ID, expect to pay more. My longest kitchen cabinet is 9 feet, the Quartz solid surface comes in 2 pieces and installers use resin epoxy to join them together, can see and feel the join line.
