pentux 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Did your id give you breakdown of the cost for doing your kids' room? I'm comparing the cost of buying the furniture and custom-making it.yes. there is a big difference between custom-making and buying furniture from shops. it also depends on whether you are comparing ikea children's furniture or other branded shops.for the bed frame with pull out bed, the price quoted is comparable to outside prices. for the storage cabinet, the price is more expensive (around $2k) as it is full height and compartments are customized to my liking. the bedhead have another storage compartment which cost around few hundred. but the thing is everything is customized and fits perfectly. the red laminate has special stars designs which i think my kids will love. but when they are older, guess it would be too kiddish for them.
