My reno start next month.. haha. The salesman recommend me 10W say 7W might not be bright enough. What about your kitchen and bathroom? Do you use LED spot light as well or normal downlight? Apparently thier price is fixed price 10W philips LED is SGD52 per piece, 7W is much cheaper... For MR16 holder is SGD24 for single holder and SGD46 for 3 holder. You can check out the price @ http://www.lightings.com.sg/downlights.html. I don't quite like their MR16 holder especially the 3 holder as need to mod slightly to fix 10W LED so i plan to look around.. plan to drop by megaman and maybe optiled to check out the price. porcupine12trade 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2011 Hi swipedAll toilets, passage way, kitchen use normal downlights, balconies hamburger lights. I'm using Philips led GU10 7w=50w (erm I also don't know y 7=50), no transformer needed. GU5.3 needs transformer but bulb smaller. Got all from ledworks as we thought they seem knowledgeable also coz they r only one we found to hv dimmable capability (track n compatible dimmer), since I'm paying for Philips led bulb dimmable, I want to b able to dim them .I don't think I got v good price, they r also fixed price like lightings.com. Holder $30. I take it as paying for reliability?(I don't know but they seem realiable heh). Also they hv the exact set up in showroom n we see that the set up doesn't flicker etc n dims v nicely. My main concern is if led bulbs ( track light) are bright enough? I'm happy w my mbr/dining/living set up coz combine w cove shld b bright enough. Now I hv headache with my kids bedrooms. Do u think if I put 4-5pcs of gu10 7=50w on a single track in 1 bed room will b bright enough? We r considering L box vs track light as the existing light pt will b for fan (no fan kit). Btw the bedrms are 3.5x2.7m 3x2.5m.

porcupine12trade 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2011 Swiper,Wah, if gu5.3 10w comes w transformer, then it's worth it. Ledworks promo price has stopped n reverted back to $72 excludes transformer.

terrygerrard 1 Report post Posted August 18, 2011 Please remember philips LED 7W or 10W MR16 (GU5.3) come with mini fan.Once mini fan fail then led will fail too.what is the warranty period?LED has narrow angle as per comparison with halogen bulb.depend of what angle you are taking too.Cheers. I have gotten 40D beam angle, ok or not? we chose the GU10 coz no need external transformer, dont know its the correct thinking or not, its kind of too late to back out coz we hv gotten holders compatible with the GU10, though too late to do anything but still good to know what i am getting into. I am wondering if Track lighting (how many bulbs needed?) is able to light up rooms of 3.5x2.7m and 3x2.5m? this is driving me nuts, as these 2 rooms are kids room, cannot be too dim, so its either LED track lighting or L Box recess lightingLED is still v new, think we just took the plunge and be using it (track lighting), but to play safe, we including cove lighting too. leep my fingers crossed Edited August 18, 2011 by porcupine12trade
porcupine12trade 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2011 I'll drop by megaman @ Jln besar this weeekend to check out thier price as I'd like to consider other brand.swiper, yes good to look around more and consider other brands. We are simply too sian of walking around, looking at things that seem sooooo greek to us, best of all, my hb has NO opinion :s.....everything "up to u (me, wife) lo", moreover we have 3 young schooling kids, not easy to walk round the island with them.My friend just did his reno and has installed LED recess lighting thru'out his home, his LEDs are from AI LED (local company, LEDs assembled in sin, but originate dont know where ). We went for philips simply because LEDworks is a 1 stop shop for all...everything set up swee swee, just pt "i wan tis set-up, that set-up"... consolation is we only got 3x3m tracks, 10 LED GU10+holders, if not suitable, still not tt bad. Like i mentioned earlier, bathrooms/passage way/kitchen = existing false ceiling+PLC and balconies = existing hamburger ceiling lights, hence we are not going to change them.... we just want to take care of the "not there stuff" LOL.Actually tis is our 3rd reno liao... but we still as "inexperience" as before LOL, terrible....ooh or rather coz the family setup is getting more complicated, hence the reno too...only 1 word to describe ---> SIAN
