greemme 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Hi luvalist,A very nice place you have here. Even though there are some hiccups now, but I believe the final result will be great... hang in there.Btw, I am from Punggol Spring too. I have not begun renovations, just sourcing for the right contractor and quotes now.I saw that you had an oven built into a tall unit (beside the fridge) in your kitchen. Did you hack away the original tiled wall near the entrance to build the tall unit?As far as I know, that tiled wall contains some pipes within? I have checked and some contractors are adamant that this area cannot be touched at all. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks.
luvalist 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Oh dear! Poor thing! Your beautiful green wall still isn't ready! What about the rest of the defects? Has your ID rectified those?Hihi! Thanks for dropping by! We have it temporary up! Will need to upload the photos. It is gorgeous but will look better if it covers the entire wall! But maintenance wise, must clean and clean and clean for now, dirt drop here and there. Hopefully as time passed, it's better!Defects wise, we just asked the ID to rectify those obvious ones. Small ones we actually give up! Then the wires behind the brick wall still messy, ID don't care. It's like the best they can do for us. We did ask for service recovery, they gave us soft closing hinges (they didn't provide but we disputed coz we heard it) for some kitchen cabinets and that's it. I feel like some beggars! I already told them i dont mind getting some soft close hinges at ikea for 2 for $9.90! Anyway, we paid the final payment and got nothing to do with them anymore. Jus wan to check with u furniture wise did u get b4 hand already or did u go everything the same as the 3D drawing? We bought the sofa first before the design. It's from Casa Italy slightly over $1.8k. And the designer kept telling us it don't match the design! I tried selling but no taker. Thank god! Coz it turn out to be a good buy. Except some little patches of white leather came off and we are still waiting for Casa Italy pple to come and make good!Another thing is the bedframe. Too good to miss! strikingreality 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) JX83, if you have a good idea of the design you want and the type of look you are going for then juz go ahead and buy! Ultimately I think your ID should work with what you have bought, rather than you buying what they can work with. That's the mark of a good designer. if a designer tell me my pieces dun match and want me to change then I'll strike him off mylist immed. luvalist 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2011 breathe! breathe! breathe! i can totally feel your anger from jsut reading your posts.. must be tough ya? hang in there! just remember that at the end of the day.. you will have a wonderful home to go back to when it's all done! Thanks!! Very give up on those pple - ID, green wall pple.. All the same! Wanna earn easy money and don't wanna put efforts. Or rather they think they put in alot of efforts for us despite their busy schedule, but we feel that it's not enough... ID said not their fault and they have communicated the ideas to the green wall pple who said leave everything to them. Green wall pple said it's the ID who didn't contact them until last min! Haiyo... BREATH!! Inner peace!

I think good designer should work around what you already have and what you want. Of course, what you already have and what you want shouldn't deviates very far away. and a good design shouldn't be pricey! Look at Bryan Wong's design. Really awesome. luvalist 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2011 Hi luvalist, my coming new place will be in punggol, is it near u? Mind if I visit ur place to view the workmanship? And I really like the laminate you use for ur TV console, mind to share the brand and name of it?Hey! we are at Punggol. Are you on Facebook? We can exchange contact. I just spoke to another neighbour using the same company. She said the workmanship is *ahem*. We both feel that we can do a better job than them! lol. Love your "Green" concept. I wanted to do something like this, so the plants you getting dun need much sunlight?Read your issues with your ID (felt sorry for you), its seem the ID never really do properly planning or they lack of logic in house planning. But your house still look nicely put together. Ipineapple, we asked the Green wall pple to select the plants for us. Seems like it's money plant + blue fern. They said good for indoor. We installed on Sat, the plants are sprouting 2 new leaves by yesterday (monday). We're using a similar pendant black frame light as you! We got it from Motto abt 3 mths ago, even bk then, there were only 2 left or something.Lurve how yr home s shaping up, really looking forward to more photos!Yes, it went OOS! Haiz. But we bought it on ebay. They said instock but when we bought it, they went OSS. So they are STILL fabricating. Really to my luck. I also went Ikea to buy things, most of the things went OOS and discontinued, if not last piece.

luvalist 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2011 luvalist, Conngratulation. your Sofa really look fabulous ! where you buy from ?Casa Italy from Paya Lebar! It was actually 3m long and for the price, it's a steal. maybe not a good leather but it's okay for us. Just abit apprehensive to recommend them because we found two small patch (really quite small) of leather fell off, so the delivery guy promise to go back to make arrangement to paint back the area. But we are still waiting for this to happen after this week.My kitchen is also white. I like your 2 door fridge. I agree that ur stove is too close to the fridge, but why did u agree to this layout?I am under the impression that the stove is gonna be in the middle. That difference, I can accept. And I did ask my ID whether we should build a partition to kinda box up the fridge from the stove but he said the distance is okay. And at that point, I always thought they are ID, they will know better to find a perfect match between design and functionality. I am big big wrong! In reality, they shifted the stove more to the right. WHICH they didn't inform us. If they put right smack in the middle, it may not be sooooo close? Then again, I appreciate them shifting to the right because I will have some space for spices, oil etc. It's a big dilemna. So you see, this is the kind of communications I get. luvalist 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) Show you guys our temporary green wall: Temporary green wall by Sonic04, on FlickrTemporary because of the measurement. We asked them to cover the whole wall actually! nevertheless, we love it.And another problem surfaced - the water don't flow out of the water tray. Reason: they didn't slant the trays, they put it straight, of coz water won't flow out right. what are these pple thinking of? My future husband would have posted some photos too and you can pm him if you wanna pop by! Enjoy your reno please! Yes, I know now, Thanks for the clarification. I actually realized the answer yesterday after looking more closely at your photo, and wondering why the fridge is still recessed when compared to the built-in-oven.I think your ID and greenery guy got past-life feuds with you?? Giving you many problems, when they could have just taken the effort to do things properly in the first place. But your place still looks great, that is the most important. There's a Facebook group for us? great... I might go join and have a look.
