Hello Everyone

This is my very first post and very first blog in Renotalk forum. :yamseng:

It’s almost 4 months since my renovation was completed and I have finally settled down in my new home.

I have been lurking around Renotalk forum since last year, the members in Renotalk forum have been helpful,

providing a lot of useful information and photos,

which indirectly help me to apply ideas, concept and creativities into my new home renovation.

Now that I have settled down, I would like share my joy to all,

as a gratitude to Renotalk forum and the people who have been helping me along the way.

Hope this can help to serve as a reference to new owners and for everyone to share.

As I am staying with my wife and parents, I was hoping to stay near to Sengkang Central,

so that my parents can easy access to nearby amenity, which houses the Sengkang MRT/LRT Station,

Sengkang Bus Interchange, Compass Point Shopping Centre, Kopitiam Square (market & food centre) and the Sengkang Community Hub.

After researching, I have decided to upgrade and purchase a 5 room flat unit around Sengkang East Way / Compassvale area,

somewhere near to Sengkang Town Centre.

My property agent : Jenny Lum of ERA

Thru friend introduction, I have approach Jenny of ERA and told her my requirement.

She is a very nice and approachable person, but also a direct and frank person.

Meaning she will not beat around the bush, nor will she entertain you with a masked face,

she will state the logical facts and words directly as you.

(E.g. whether your financial mean can afford or not, be realistic, cannot then dun anyhow buy, dun be a slave to the house yourself and etc)

Some people may not like it as they may feel offended.

Maybe due to her unique and strong character, I must admit I feel stress sometimes, being her as my property agent.

But I am more comfortable, as I am assure that she is a responsible and honesty agent.

Together with the partnership of another agent, she manage all the issues and have handle all my sales and resales transaction very well,

and everything went smoothly without any hiccups.

Base on my own extensive research, I approach a reputable contractor/renovation company who is also popular in renotalk.

However, this contractor speak and promise of heaven and earth but at the end, give me trouble and problems.

Before the renovation actually start, I have terminate and file a claim against them.

(this is a long and lengthy story, and it is an unpleasant event which I will exclude from my blog)

My ID/Contractor : Perlyn and Lau (Ah Kok) of Sun Hup Interior Contracts

Knowing that I face problem in renovation, Jenny introduce her recommended contactor (Sun Hup) to me

and assure me her recommendation will solve all my problem without any hiccups, just like she have handle my sales and resales transaction.

I feel so touch as she still follow up with me after the sales and help me again even though this does not involve her sales transaction.

I met up with Perlyn and Lau (Ah Kok) of Sun Hup Interior Contracts.

Ah Kok is the boss of Sun Hup, he is Chinese speaking, not fluent of English well, but he is very creatively and have lots of innovative ideas in renovation.

Although he is the boss, he is deeply committed in his daily work, strongly involve the day to day co-ordination with his clients and sub-contractors.

Perlyn, is the right handman of Ah Kok, handles everything from A to Z, and handle English speaking clients for Ah Kok.

She is cute and nice person to work with, she will listen, provide suggestion and ideas during the whole process of renovation planning.

She is also a direct person which she will tell me what is logical and realistic to do and what is not.

Sun Hup also have a very good relationship with their sub-contractor which bond their work very well.

Another unique things I see from SunHup is that the workers in Sunhup are very responsible and they listen to Perlyn and Ah Kok well. :thumbs up:

Throughout the whole process of renovation, the entire renovation was done smoothly without major hiccups.

My co-ordination, followup and relationship with them is well. :dancingqueen:

Of course, there are problems and issues face along the way, but Ah Kok and Perlyn will take the initiative to problem solving, suggestion, and frank discussion with me.

After months of co-ordination and follow up with them, at the end of the renovation completion,

I found there is no gimmick from them, workmanship is excellent,

all I can see is the sincerely, genuine and honesty from Ah Kok and Perlyn.

I will share more about them at later posting.

Given a benchmark of 100 points, no, they do not deserve 100 points.

I would rate 150 points if I can go further.

In fact, I am so appreciate and touch, not only by their good work and help, but the genuine and the moral of the good person I come to know,

that I invite Perlyn, Ah Kok and Jenny to my home for dinner, which I personally do the cooking for them.

And one thing for sure, Sun Hup and Jenny will be my Number 1 list on my next home in the future. :good:

Thanks zone23.

Maybe I too exaggerate already. :P

Cos I am staying at a stone throw away from Sengkang MRT / Compasspoint,

staying at high floor, corner unit, and

the living room, all the 3 bedrooms and kitchen having 100% unblock view and can see the whole of Sengkang Town Centre.

Anyway, do stay tune for more pictures coming soon.

Do pardon my poor photographer skill. :P

To cater for all of the sound & visual system and CD/DVD/Blue-rays, a 12FT long feature wall and TV console was build.

Tinted glass with door opening was build for all the setup box, for nice presentation and minimize dust when not in use.
