if i am not mistaken

there should be a minimum occupancy period before it can be rented out... need to check hdb regulations in their website

anyway, u can do anything but don't get caught :P

Remember... the response from you friend should be NO extension allowed (in view of hdb regulation)

If seller insist 3 mth extension then I recommend to postpone the HDB 2nd appointment

Tell you friend not to deal directly with seller. (not making your friend in difficult position)

Instead ask buyer agent to deal with seller/seller agent for any request... remember buyer agent is collecting the commission after all..

By law, cannot.

But, if the seller is going to do buy and sell HDB at the same time. Ask to propose the 2nd appointment. Mostly the seller will refused to sell the house to your friend.

Base on your post, I guess they had exercise the OTP, right?

Buyer and seller only can extend 2nd appointment max 8 wk. If more than 8 wk, better check with HDB officer.

If your friend is take Bank loan, ask him to read his LO line by line again if want to extend 2nd appointment.

Depending on the situation...

If the seller is also buying, if you postpone the completion....they may not have the $$$ to complete their buying transaction

Best,

Mark
