Need Snr Advise On Air Con (Hp & Btu/Hr & Air-Con Refrigerant)

Recommended Posts

Sorry i tried to use the search function but not much info found.

Need Snr Advise On Air Con (hp & Btu/hr & Air-Con Refrigerant).

What is the difference on hp = horse power 1.5HP 2HP 2.5HP 3HP 3.5HP 4 HP in comparing with BTU? As some salesman sold the idea to me this brand or model aircon is good due to high HP but another salesman told me their brand is also good as high BTU..

Plus at COURTS the sale man told me Air-Con Refrigerant R410A is not good and Air-Con Refrigerant R22 is better?

I am so confuse ...

Not to mention they also add in those energy saving tick like 2 tick or 3 tick or 4 tick..

Thanks in advance...

Wen

hp is horsepower, a imperial measurement of motor power. should use BTU instead.

most hdb bedrooms need no more than 9000btu for fast n efficient cooling. if require two rooms to cool simultaneously, a compressor no more than 20k btu is needed. if need to cool additional rooms, then compressor capacity need to be higher, but this all depends on ur usage, to balance between power bills n cooling efficiency (how fast to reach desired temperature).

for more energy savings, get inverter type with more ticks. downside is more expensive but better savings in long run. so buy based on what is needed, not salesman sweet talk.

a list of aircons performance is found in nea website.

Courts outsources their air con installation to external parties. I got tired of waiting for them to get back to me with a site visit/installation date(dispite numerous smses and calls) that i canceled the order, got my deposit back and got a better deal at one of the recent expos.

Their "lowest price guarantee" couldn't match an earlier quote from prices i got from an earlier expo too, even thou the sales person promised that he could do so over the phone when i contacted him regarding the better offer from the other expo.

just for your info...to know how much BTU you need to cool your rooms..

take the floor area in sqft x 60..thats the BTU that you need..

for example..if your room is 150sqft..you will need a 150sqft x 60 = 9000 BTU unit for that particular room..

a smaller cooling capacity unit & your compressor has to work harder...
