Question: Ceiling Structural Beams

Recommended Posts

Just want to ask you guys here if there's any way of obtaining a floor plan of my HDB unit that marks out the ceiling structural beams in the house?

The floor plan only marks out the vertical columns but not the ones that run overhead.

Should have, these are called as-build structural floor plans. You can approach them, need $$.

Why you need these? You need to engage Professional Engineer (PE) if need structural alteration. Very expensive lah!

If normal renovation, there is no reason to buy these plans.

Thanks! I didn't know it was so difficult to get hold of this info.

Basically I was just trying to plan my air-con trunking route myself and can't really recognise the ceiling beams from the rest of the walls. I don't intend to do any alteration of the structural beams but I do want to know where the 'gaps' in between the beams are.
